2008 NBA Free Agent List http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=2008FreeAgents Notables: Josh Smith (R), Emeka Okafor, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Juwan Howard (har har), Allen Iverson (ETO), Andris Biedrins, Monta Ellis, Baron Davis (ETO), Jermaine O'Neal, Elton Brand (ETO), Corey Maggette (ETO), Shawn Marion (ETO), Andre Igoudala, Ron Artest (ETO), Antawn Jamison, Gilbert Arenas (ETO) ETO = Early Termination Option. Add to this list a bunch of intriguing players like Millsap, Jamario Moon, Calderon, Nesterovic, Beno Udrih, Marbury (for laughs sake), Ryan Gomes, Diop, Ricky Davis, Juan Carlos Navarro, Mickael Pietrus, Daniel Gibson, Delonte West, Josh Childress. whoo whee! I'm especially interested in who is the winner of getting Calderon (whom when starting, averaged better stats that Steve Nash's best stretch of equal length for the season). Luol Deng, Jamario Moon, Beno Udrih, Mickael Pietrus, Millsap, and Diop are some incredible value plays here as well.
Not like we have enough money to get anyone good anyways . TMac is going to be making over 20 million in the next 3 years, while his value continues to skyrocket down, hell he probably will retire in the next few years anyways . Most of those Free Agents are probably going to resign with their team. Maybe Maggette, Marion, Arenas, Pietrus, and Calderon are the only ones I see changing teams..
Josh Smith. But Atlanta's tied in a playoff series with Boston, and he's been a main contributor. He just earned him a sure fire extension with the Hawks. I'll take Pietrus, Moon, or Udrih. I say Udrih because Jackson should be part of a deal involving expiring contracts.
Almost everyone of note on the list is a RFA or a player with an ETO. We can offer Scola/Landry and perhaps Brooks in a trade along with Jackson and our 1st round pick but that will severely deplete the team. We have to retain our rookies at all cost.
