Suns were never built as a playoff team, they were like the opposite of how the Spurs run a season, so I don't give them that much credit. That early 2000s Kings team was excellent, one of the best ever not to win a championship and the healthy 09 Rockets team was pretty darn good too.
the 2001-2002 kings would probably be first since they just needed a few calls to win it all. the 2006-2007 suns very well may have beaten the spurs had the suspensions and nash's bloody nose in that one game not happened. the 2008-2009 cavs won 66 games and would have gone 40-1 at home if they hadn't rested everybody in the final game of the regular season and had lebron at the peak of his game but howard just dominated the cavs big men by too big of a margin and lewis and turkoglu were just unbelievable in that series. the 2011-2012 thunder beat a spurs team on a 20 game win streak and had kevin durant playing extremely well, but they were just not a great matchup for a small-ball miami team and even then they lost several close games in the finals. i'd probably rank them: 01-02 kings 08-09 cavs 11-12 thunder 06-07 suns and i know a mavs team eventually won but they were pretty different from the 06-07 mavs. that team went 67-12 against everybody not named golden state but went 0-3 against the warriors. their first round opponent just happened to be the warriors and, not surprisingly, they lost. i think they beat anybody else in a series.
2002 Sacramento Kings - Officiating. 2005 Phoenix Suns - Injuries 2006 Dallas Mavericks - Officiating and Jerry Stackhouse being suspended. 2006 Phoenix Suns - Injuries. 2007 Phoenix Suns - Injuries, officiating, and suspensions. 2009 Houston Rockets - Injuries. 2009 Cleveland Cavaliers - They just came short against Orlando. 2009 Boston Celtics - KG was out. 2010 Boston Celtics - Numerous bad calls resulting in 21 4th quarter free throws for L.A. 2013 Boston Celtics - Injuries. 2013 OKC Thunder - Injuries. 2013 Chicago Bulls - Injuries.
The 08 09 rockets if healthy would have one it all if healthy Brooks/Lowry Tmac/Wafer/Barry Artest/Battier Scola/Landry/Hayes Yao/Mutombo/Hayes
The Kings. I am convinced the league rigged those seasons. The NBA needed the Lakers to win those championships. The Kings got robbed. Must be illuminati.
I always shake my head at this Kings "got robbed" crap. Its true that game 6 was ridiculous, but the Kings had game 7 at home. The home team almosts NEVER loses a game 7 but Webber and company choked like maggot infested dogs. BTW, the free throw discrepency for the Lakers in that '02 series was just one more attempt than the free throw discrepencey of game 4 of Spurs vs. Heat this year, where the Spurs had 14 more attempts. The Heat overcame that, the Kings didn't. That Kings team was just a bunch of choke artists.
