Is this Lillard rather than George? Because Lillard/LeBron/George leaves Lakers with effectively a 3 man roster due to how much salary they have to send out (via @aelliott)

Mannis is a solid reporter who doesn't seem to have an anti-Houston bias

I find it hard to believe that CP3 and Morey would want Lebron, but Harden wouldn’t...it will take a joint effort from both CP3 and Harden to convince Lebron that Houston is the place for him

I remember it being reported a couple of weeks ago that Harden and CP3 were already planning what’s next

I hope Portland ships him to the least marketable place possible. Charlotte? Oklahoma?

even then, there is no way portland does that deal. they were the 3 seed last season and just met a matchup nightmare in the pelicans in the 1st rd (let's be honest, if pelicans/warriors was officiated fairly, then pels would've taken at least 2 games from the warriors in that series). portland would not trade their franchise player for ball and kuzma and end of first rd picks (the negative value of ball would make this trade worse than kmart+jeremy lamb+picks for harden). if anything, it's likely lakers officials starting the rumors bc theyre getting desperate knowing that lebron wants and needs a 3rd star for the lakers scenario to be viable.. and if anyone from the blazers have discussed such a scenario, they're only doing it to see what lillard's value is around the league and waiting for other offers to come thru. it's not unusual for teams to make their stars "available", knowing full well they aren't trading them but only to see what their value is in the offseason. any deal for lillard would need to be an absolute home run for the blazers for them to pull such a trade.

and as discussed before.. spurs will not trade kawhi for that lakers package, when it is likely to include deng... doesn't matter if ingram is included or not. and if kawhi is hellbent on going to LA, then the spurs would rather take a trade package including the clippers 2 lotto picks so that they can choose players and develop them the spurs way.

    A few questions.

Why would Portland even consider that deal?

If Portland wanted to trade Lillard, why wouldn't they just trade him for the best offer? Certainly you can't think that's the best deal that they could get for Lillard?

Portland is going to trade it's best player AND they're going to take on 2yrs/$36M in Deng's salary?

Portland is going to trade a first team All-NBA player and the best asset that they receive in return is Kyle Kuzma? Really?

Why would Portland make themselves worse and also not reduce salary? What's their motivation to do this? How does this help make Portland better?

Your premise is that LAL would end up with Lebron, PG13 and Lillard, so that first rounder has little value, right?

Do you realize how much negative value Deng's contract has in a trade? The speculation is that you'd have to attach 2 first rounders minimum to get somebody to absorb that contract alone. Think Anderson's contract.

I'd be shocked if Portland chooses to make themselves substantially worse all the while not improving their cap situation at all.

You can throw Ingram into the deal and it's still not close to being equitable.

You also forgot that Kawhi isn't going to pass on a supermax deal and once he signs it then he can't be traded for 1 year.

Didn't Lonzo also say that the next team that signs "Laker" Ball (get the La-- mixed up) has to sign his brothers too?

Maybe the Blazers are trying to gauge interest to prep for a Lillard/Leonard swap?

    https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/LAL.html

Looks like they have about $39 million committed if they denounce everyone.

They won't denounce Randle, so call it $45 million (his hold is less than that but just guessing). If the cap is $105, and they split $30 million among Lebron and PG (both are taking a paycut, but i could see both doing that for sure... they're in LA, where they want to be, can make it up in various ways), that puts them at the cap.

So yeah, they'd end up going over the cap to resign Randle, and they're key players would indeed be:

    - Lillard
    - PG
    - Ingram
    - Lebron
    - Randle
    - Hart

There's definitely need to add guys, but it's a pretty talented top 4. Hope a couple veteran guys come along cheaply for the ride I guess.

But the cap is $101M and LeBron is not expected to take a pay cut. Not sure about George

as if deng's toxic contract isn't enough, why the F would POR swap lillard for lonzo? the kid can't shoot to save his life AND brings the worst family baggage in our lifetimes of any nba player. i mean just a few months ago jackass lavar got the entire national media talking about their team allegedly quitting on the coach. fakers fans delusional just like every summer. maybe they do get lebron and pg13, but there is no f'n way they're getting lillard off of POR
