He had talent around him this past year. He did the opposite of "ball out." He isn't even a top-half player in the NBA. He's an awful defender at any position and his offense has become stagnant and inefficient. He's completely mismatched for this era of basketball, where defensive versatility and being able to fit an efficient offensive role are most prized. The Warriors would feast on him when they have the ball and he wouldn't do much of anything to make it up on the offensive end.
You simply need look at the flameout season OKC just had. Why bring in Carmelo if he were even available? He'd be asked to shoot threes, period. Anything else would be not-good. We already have two iso guys. Don't bring in a ball-stopper at the forward slot.

In the OKC-GSW games last year, I don't remember Carmelo being a defensive sieve. At the very least, he would've been playable in the Warriors series, which is more than you can say about a majority of the roster when the WCFs came around.
if you havent noticed the regular season meant nothing when it came time for the playoffs. melo would of been just as unplayable against GS. And he would sit there and sulk

If you are going to use Ryan Anderson as the benchmark, then 99% of the NBA is serviceable. No we would not win against Warrior with Melo because Melo is almost just as bad on defense. Warriors would carve him apart. The only reason we gave Warriors such a hard time was because of our defense.
