2-3 games left for seeds 4-9. The others scare me a little, but not as much as the Spurs or Thunder - DO NOT WANT.
Here is the ideal scenario for the final games: Jazz beat the Lakers right now. On Monday: Blazers beat Nuggets Grizzlies beat Wolves Pelicans beat Clippers Spurs beat Kings Thunder beat Heat If all those results occur, then here are the standings going into the final game: 3. POR 4. UTAH 5. NOP 6. OKC 7. SAS 8. MIN 9. DEN OKC/SAS wouldn't drop to 8th and the Rockets would play the winner of MIN/DEN who play on the final day of the season. The Rockets second round opponent would be either the Jazz or Pelicans who they should handle easily... Warriors would have to play the Spurs in round 1 and then either the Blazers or Thunder in round 2.
I might be wrong, but if the Pelicans, Spurs, and Thunder win on Monday...and the Wolves and Nuggets both lose at least once more...then there is no scenario where the Thunder could finish 4th, 5th, or 8th...meaning the Rockets wouldn't have to play them until the WCF
Said it before and I'll say it again... bring on the Spurs. Without Kawhi, they are dead. They're one of the best matchups for the Rockets, people are just afraid of the past.
I agree, that is why we have like 20 of them. Having said that our games versus Nuggets and Wolves have been mostly blowouts so those would be the ideal scenario.
THere's a guy named Pops. He knows how to adjust. As a former coach at the collegiate level, Pops is easily one of the best to expose mismatches and weaknesses. He can make Patty Mills look like Jason Kidd or turn LaMarcus into Portland LMA who dropped 45 on us twice in a row. He can make Pau Gasol look like Kobe's partner in crime. Pops knows how to win. That's scary. Give me Thibs and an injured, discombobulated Twolves team. Or, the Nuggets. That will be a sweep. I'm excited. Draft day is exciting too. I'm feeling the Love.
Pops isn't the one out there hitting shots, though. And Gasol/Aldridge are an ideal frontcourt for us to Pick-and-roll all night long. Legendary as he may be, there's only so much chicken salad you can make out of chicken ____, as they say. I want to face San Antonio just to help the Rockets (and the league) mitigate the fear of Pop. But Minnesota is certainly the safer play.
If we can’t get out of the first round beating any of these teams then we have no business being in the playoffs. I’m up for anybody.
Where's the option for idgaf who we play? Line up anyone because in the end if its gonna happen there isn't anyone that can derail it. Let's get this shiz started and Toyota better be rocking from the tip
