    Your point is that.... Trump shouldn't release his taxes because.... average every day Americans couldn't get educated enough about taxes to read his tax returns & make up their own mind?

    Wow... that's a truly stupid reason to argue for NON transparency in our government. The American people are too stupid. Good one.

    I didn't say "shouldn't". Im saying it doesn't matter because people don't know what they're looking at

    What percentage of Americans do you think are qualified to understand whats going on in the returns? Do you think the ones who aren't qualified are gonna learn overnight by looking at returns that involve billions of dollars?

    actually, I was educated in Accounting / Finance and Economics,
    have worked in the Accounting / Finance field---interpreting/analyzing financial statements---for over a decade


    the dizzying height of ignorance, false-equivacating Apple's balance sheet info w the tax transcript info of the trust fund baby

    for the education of traitor_george
    • a balance sheet shows the assets, liabilities and equity
      • it is a snapshot of the financial conditions, at a point in time, of individuals / going concerns
    • tax transcripts don't
      • they report the results of operations, for a defined period of time, within the framework of the IRS tax laws

    Well under that logic why should nonprofits have to still publicly publish their 990's?? Americans wont understand it... so why bother?

    Also I think even average Americans understand things like a revenue schedule in a tax return that shows where someone or an entity gets their income from.

    yip, the trust fund baby should not complain / lie so much.

    the trust fund baby can easily clear this up by releasing his tax returns from 25 - 35 yr ago to counter the NYT reporting;

    after all,
    we all know that these returns are not under audit;
    as per the IRS site, the IRS does not audit tax returns more than 7 years old.

    Right? I forgot where these folks used the same "we shouldn't know these FACTS!" logic on illegally hacked electronic files and stained dresses, etc. It's really incredible.

    Like: I have no problem w' dude losing so damned much of other people's money and proclaiming the opposite. I only have a problem with it coming to light.

    Because nothing is illegal or even out of the ordinary considering he is a real estate developer and his returns already passed the irs smell test

    Yeah....... except he isn't a joke.

    He is President of the USA, he is negotiating with potential long term effects in China, Iran and South Korea.

    He has already taken what would have been a liberal SCOTUS and made it conservative, with the health of a 90 year old being the only thing from the President shaping the Court for the next 20-30 years.

    He spearheaded and led the passing of a tax cut with enormous long term effects.

    He is (as I type) building a Wall along the US border and also negotiating tariffs and potential war with Iran.

    He is many things......... but he isn't a joke. He is very real, and extremely powerful. He has a popularity up in the mid 40's all while alienating women, minorities and other groups..... he is leader of a growing economy and very well could be re-elected.

    It's about time that Democrats stop seeing him as a "joke" and realize what is he is, and what is going on.
