hes mentally ill, i don't think he was using logic. probably would not care if the campus was gun free or not. if a killer is going to kill, hes going to kill.
No. It. Wasn't. Don't just go along with the Breitbart "well if only they were allowed to bring theirs on campus then someone could have stopped this" line. Oregon allows concealed carry.
One of the realest things you've written on CF and a point that I don't think folks can disagree with.
I dunno, you almost never see these people attacking anything but soft targets, especially given his nonsense "what religion are you?" stuff if true. He wouldn't have a chance for that type of thing if he wasn't hitting a completely defenseless target. Brilliant, so it would have been legal for students to have concealed carry there....just so long as they didn't mind being expelled for it since it's against the student code of conduct. What an amazing argument. The campus was a gun free zone even if it wasn't gun free based on a law. Even the security guards were unarmed.
Ah yes, so the student code of conduct takes precedence over state law. Even more brilliant. Obviously no student would bother to challenge such a thing. Why bother, right? Fugg the law.
LOL, I'm not sure what you are even trying to say, that someone should have broken the student code of conduct then tried to fight their expulsion based on the fact that what they did wasn't against state law? Is that really what you are saying? That's grasping at straws.
Dude. There was someone on campus, with a concealed carry firearm. It's allowed. I saw an officer say he came forward and was escorted to his car after the all-clear. So much for your "soft target" BS.
Grasping at straws. Are you sure you know what that actually means sir? FWIW yes, that has actually been done before in the state of Oregon and the student (a marine enrolled at Western Oregon) won his case. Hopefully I explained it properly to you. The more you know/ reach one teach one etc etc.
The entire country is a soft easy target if you have a gun. I can kill multiple people right now here in Texas if I decided to. Soft easy targets exist based on the weapons you have at your disposal. In a way you are indirectly arguing for gun control. Less guns means less soft targets if you want to commit mass murder.
SMH that's just completely backwards and wrong but I don't have the patience to spell it out for you other than to point out the obvious, fewer guns make the few guns that are out there that much more dangerous. As soon as people with more guns showed up, the guy's fun was over and no one else got killed. Had there been more guns to begin with, he might not have been able to kill quite so many.
well that all sounds like a calculated, very well thought out plan. somebody that knows what they are trying to do. it's not just a mental illness thing. a lot of these fools are pretty damn capable.
The public doesn't need guns. Law enforcement though can carry. Id swear you are being dumb on purpose but you've been here way too long and I know better.
You guys keep mentioning mental issues.... yeah what about it? Does it mean take the proper happy pills??? See a psych doctor, what? Monthly evaluation, health care coverage????? What about it? Fukk the gun talk for a second, let's discuss this mental thing.
The second you realize that when you look in the mirror, all these dudes shooting up theaters and schools have way more in common with you than the people you try and ostracize.
Additional context: This student who was carrying was interviewed tonight on Fox news. He's a former Air Force Airman with a concealed carry permit. According to him, he was in a building across campus approximately 200 yards away and his first instinct was to run to the sounds of shooting. He stated that school officials in charge of the building he was in would not let him leave. I'm assuming because the school was on lock down.
I don't have the time to look it up now, but a few years ago the rate of mass murders/spree killing like this one were not any higher than 30-40 years ago but they were far more likely to be covered by the media. Far more concerned about the day in and day out shootings in places like the South Side of Chicago and New Orleans than spree killings.
to some extent there has to be more in the last 15 years then before. at least the number of people killed during each "mass shooting" has risen. maybe i'm wrong though.
