Which team would you pick to run with this year?

  1. 04-05 Rockets

    16.1%
  2. 13-14 Rockets

    83.9%

    I would take this year's squad but it is closer than a lot of people think.

    This year's squad, and I don't even think it will be close.

    2008 - 2009 roster was way better.

    That roster healthy is actually a close call to this years roster.

    Brooks/Lowry
    TMac/Wafer
    Artest/Battier
    Scola/Landry
    Yao/Mutombo

    Reserves: Brian Cook, Brent Barry, Chuck Hayes

    The depth on that team was insane...we were 2 deep at every position.

    T-Mac of 05 was on another level, by this time he had lost a step even though the team was better overall.

    It doesn't matter if T Mac was in his highest level in 04-05. The 08-09 roster and this year's roster are better than that 04-05 roster. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

    That roster could of won back to back if they were healthy.

    Better question would be the 08-09 Rockets vs the 13-14 Rockets.

    Since '04-'05 team did not win anything, I have to go with the '13-'14 Rockets.

    Agreed. The supporting cast around Yao and T-mac was just horrid. CD was a decent GM, but he put a TERRIBLE supporting cast around Yao and T-mac during their prime years.

    IMO, the best Rockets squad during the Yao-Tmac era was the one during that 22 game winning streak. A healthy Yao throughout that season with Scola, Landry, Lowry, Brooks, Dikembe was one to be reckoned with.

    If you compared that squad to this years upcoming squad, then you'd have a debate.

    Wow, what a question? I take Yao so that team, man Sura! And in game 2 in Dallas is when Yao was breaking records, and officially showed us who YAO MING was...man him, and Sura those injuries haunt us ,and then well...sh%t happens.

    I really hope this team now succeeds though. Can't compare the two, and I will finally say his name Tracy was great that season, but decided to "take games off.". (was the word/slacked bc up 2-0)

    Harden is amazing and be happy we have two now. How crazy the last 2 summers/years have been "goin down in Houston"

    This years Dwight is better than Yao in 05. 05 Tmac was better than harden last year, but that may change this year.

    Role players are better with this years squad. I'll take this year's team.

    Starters:
    Lin >> Sura
    Harden >>> Wesley
    Parsons << McGrady
    Jones = Howard
    Howard = Yao

    Bench:
    Beverley >> James
    Garcia > Barry
    Casspi = Bowen
    Motie/Smith >> Weatherspoon/Padgett
    Asik > Mutombo

    Really, there is almost no competition.

    04-05. people forget how good this team was, and t-mac was on another level and yao was healthy. this is the team that took the first 2 games in DALLAS to go up 2-0 only to choke the series away. that was the best squad we've had in recent memory.

    one of my favorite dunks of all time in that series

    Harden < McGrady
    Howard < Yao (assuming its the Howard of last year)
    Parsons > Wesley
    Lin > Sura
    Asik = Mutombo
    Motiejunas/Jones/Smith < Howard/Padgett/Weatherspoon
    Beverley = James
    Delfino < Barry
    Garcia > Bowen
