I hope teams are stupid enough to not guard a multiple time all star, league MVP and top 10 player in the league in the playoffs.

my point was this season was an outlier.

are you willing to bet that he can't raise his 3 point % 2-4 % but he will stay a 65% FT shooter.

how does that make sense using your logic?

No, it doesn't. My original point is that teams didn't guard him and dared him to shoot, and he shot poorly on those shots. Combining open and wide open shots, he was 31% from 3 and 33% from 2. It wasn't just 3s, they were daring him to take elbow jumpers too. I'm not making this up, if you watched the series you would know this happened. Not only that, there were also some plays where he was clearly scared to shoot. He would get the ball wide open, hesitate as portland taunted him, and then pass it off.

Here are two articles about it with some relevant quotes and tweets.

Did you not just post a link saying he shot 35% from 3 on open shots?

My only point is that he made those shots at a respectable clip and he will have far more offensive threats than he did in OKC.

These are the same people that voted Westbrook for MVP over Harden. Now, they have reservations about Westbrook's game?

    Come on... gimme a break!

These morons have no insight on the game of basketball. They're just parroting the latest trend in hot takes.

By the way, where's Giannis -- their other darling MVP picked over Harden?

Absolutely no mention all summer of the guy ESPN labeled "best player in the world" only a few months ago. Why aren't they having this discussion about Giannis' piss poor shooting in the playoffs?

Nope. Now, it's all about LeBron's Lakers and Kawhi's Clippers.

ESPN will hype you up, chew and spit you out, then go for the next big thing. That's their business model.

    Yeah I was joking.

Guys you don’t have to guard in the playoffs: from 3

Andre Roberson (25.7% career reg season) OKC
Rondo (career 29% in playoffs) Lakers
Moe Harkless (28% 18/19 reg season) Clippers
Stanley Johnson (29% 18/19 reg season) Raptors
Livingston (0% reg/PO’s) free agent (former world champion)
    Draymond Green (28% 18/19 reg season/ 23% 18/19 PO’s....former world champion) Warriors
    Ben Simmons (0% 18/19 reg season) 76ers
Jokic (31% 18/19 reg season) Nuggets
    G Antetokounmpo (26% 18/19 reg season) Bucks

Every team has flaws. Warriors have proven you can win without average or better 3-pt shooters all along the perimeter.

I prefer my non shooter be a point guard which penetrates to facilitate. I’ve preached Centers being able to shoot.
Rockets have the ability to run Tucker at the 5.....maybe Bennett produces by the PO’s (@ the 4). Rockets could
have 4 players on the perimeter with Westbrook facilitating. Winning scheme.

Now with Embiid and Simmons....Embiid wants to fool around at the 3-point line. Now that’s a conflict with Simmons and Embiid. Thankfully our number one center knows his role and Capela USG% is not a main cog that requires the ball in his hands extensively.

I’m on record wanting the Rockets to add Covington or Iggy (I believe he shot 33% from 3 in 18/19 reg season 35% PO’s)
Dante Cunningham (46% 18/19 reg season) as 3td string backup behind Tucker/Bennett? Possibly and 3rd string SF
behind Covington or Iggy/House. Eric Gordon goes back to second team behind Harden. Cunningham could also
play as small ball 5....allowing Tucker to remain at the 4.

    P.S. Westbrook had a higher Ast% (46.5%) than CP3 (39.3%) in 18/19.....and I would argue CP3 had better shooters surrounding him.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If he's unguarded and you swing the ball to him then he will have room to drive due to the spacing that our shooters create.
