How many times do we hear it's not about race, it's about policies and then five minutes later call him Hussein. At least these people have the courage to own their bigotry.

‘47 Percent Negro’: Anti-Obama Protest Turns Racist In Phoenix

    http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/anti-obama-protest-turns-racist

As President Barack Obama spoke in Phoenix Tuesday about responsible home ownership, hundreds of people stood outside protesting his policies, many shouting and carrying racially charged chants and signs.

"Bye Bye Black Sheep," the protestors shouted at one point, a reference to the president's skin color, according to the Arizona Republic.

Another protestor carried a sign that said "Impeach the Half-White Muslim!"

“He’s 47 percent Negro,” one protestor shouted.

“We have gone back so many years,” Judy Burris told the Republic. “He’s divided all the races. I hate him for that.”

Obama supporters were also rallying outside the high school where the president spoke.

“There’s so much extremism in Arizona,” said Jonathan Rines, a retired member of the U.S. Navy, of the 'Black Sheep' chant. “The people who are doing that are a vocal minority.”

So, I get hammered for calling some Dems "traitors", but it's totally kosher for us to be called racists?

I took the OP off of ignore. I remembered immediately why OP is on ignore.

I didn't know you lived in Arizona. Okay. Were you there holding one of these signs? Do tell.

So anyway, what do you call someone that sings a racial taunt of bye bye black sheep? A great American? :)

How is that in any way calling all Republicans racist? Those people in the crowd ARE racists.

As with most opposition rallies, there will usually be one or two nuts that the media will exploit. Quotes taken out of context make good copy, too. The narrative is that the Republican party is racist, and by extension, anyone who belongs to it. Me.

You can cherrypick most Obama rallies and find MUCH worse than this.

Yeah and the narrative is that every liberal is some tree hugging hipster socialist. Please, stop playing victim. It happens to everyone.

And to preempt the next post, just because it's bedtime...

Ahhch! you got us! We're all racists! There's obviously nothing we could disagree with along policy lines, which of course leaves only ONE possible reason for us to disagree with POTUS. BECAUSE HE'S HALF BLACK! I mean, what else could it be?

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

More cherry picked media propaganda from the traditionally conservative Arizona Republic.

According to the bigtexxx rules on condemnation, if you don't condemn this behavior right away you are in agreement with the comments. I will be the first to completely condemn this outrageous racism of our dear leader. I'll just put tree as in agreement per his strange rant and lack of condemnation.

Racially-charged sentiment infused the protests and split the crowd both politically and physically. Obama supporters congregated on the west side of the road in front of the high school and his critics lined up across the street.

Obama foes at one point sang, "Bye Bye Black Sheep," a derogatory reference to the president's skin color, while protesters like Deanne Bartram raised a sign saying, "Impeach the Half-White Muslim!"

Many on both sides wore red, white and blue and carried small flags.

“It just kind of happened naturally,” said Michael Pomales of how the opposing sides separated. Pomales, an 18-year-old Ahwatukee Foothills resident who graduated in the spring from Desert Vista High, said he decided to join the protesters side “to spread a little love” as the crowds began shouting at each other.

Pomales said his response to people yelling for Obama to go back from where he came from is simple: “He’s a great man. He cares about what I care about, education, jobs. He’s our president. He’s an American.”

Deanna Bartram, a 17-year-old University of Arizona student from Black Canyon City, lashed out at people who call her racist for not supporting Obama. She believes Obama supporters use the “race card” against her because they disagree with her political message.

“Obama is ruining American values. He is ruining the Constitution. He needs to go back to where he came from because obviously, he is a liar,” she said. “I am not racist. I am part Indian. Obama’s half Black, half White.”

“He’s 47 percent Negro,” shouted Ron Enderle, a 77-year-old Chandler resident who said that he and his son served as Marines and his grandson is currently serving in the Marines.

Enderle criticized the president mishandling security at the U.S. Benghazi Embassy.

“My grandson is third generation Marine, and it bothers me to have this man as our commander in chief. I’m ashamed,” Enderle said.

Judy Burris said that she blames Obama for racism in America reaching heights not seen since the 1960s Civil-Rights Era.

“We have gone back so many years,” she said. “He’s divided all the races. I hate him for that.”

She said that she brought her 12-year-old grandson Christian Cabrera to the protests because she thought it would be educational.

“He’s Mexican,” she said of her grandson.

Cabrera said he wanted to accompany his grandma “so I could protest about impeaching Obama.”

You're searching very hard to make these insults about you. Nobody said the entire Republican party was racist. Nobody said anyone who belongs to the Republican party is racist.

Nobody can do anything about you going out of your way to tie yourself to something in order to make it seem like you were insulted.

I live in Phoenix also, and this ish is just embarrassing.

It sounds like just another episode from our 3 Stooges in the D&D. I wonder if they made the trip here. Didn't Trader_Jorge mention he was on the verge of "something big" in one of his posts?

His cardboard poster must have been colorful.

Oh, come on now, why do you this this was posted? The narrative is that the Republican party, and the Tea Party in particular, are racists. If this event was just a random, one-off event (as it almost certainly is) or the quotes were cherrypicked to make a story out of nothing (as they almost certainly were), then this wouldn't be worth posting. But the narrative is that people like me are racist, and that our dislike of Obama can only stem from that. Hell, only 3 posts down from yours we got this little gem as proof:

Sad that people like this exist. We have a few on this board.[/quote]

Who do you think he's referring to if not conservatives like myself?

Liberals have a caricature of Republicans/conservatives/TPers stuck in their heads, and it says that they are racist, homophobic, woman-hating neanderthals, and stories like this are simply offered up as "proof".

You guys enjoy your circle jerk.

Stretching what? What exactly is the point of posting this article if not to "proove" that Obama's opposition is racist? The Left has been looking for racist boogeymen, especially since the rise of the TP, ever since Obama came into the office. Aside from the random idiot who shows up at a rally (and then generally gets bounced) they haven't had alot of success in that effort. But the Narrative must be fed.

Really? What IS the point if not that?
