Does anyone have any tips for changing a low beam headlight on a 1999 Honda Accord LX when all conventional methods have failed? I know how to change the lightbulbs and I have taken them all out except the one that is really not working.

The broken bulb is a low beam on the passanger side. Its next to the air intake, battery and some water bottle ... hehe ... well those are just minor distractions because I was able to get my hand in there but I cant twist the bulb like I did with others, I cant even disconnect the plastic connector, it must have melted or something because it seems like its stuck to the plastic ring.

Anyone have any suggestions or do you know any shop that can fix this cheap? The dealership wants $50 but they might want even more now that this thing seems to be stuck.

    Grrrr

Hmm, that would be pretty nice. I was thinking of going there but didnt because Kwik Kar said they dont replace light bulbs and the two places are similar. Does $24.99 include the light bulb and labor (plus any problems they might face taking it out)?

I will try to take mine out again...maybe a hammer will do it. If not I am going to Jiffy Lube.

Yes, it includes the bulb and labor and problems. Plus, if they screw some fused-together part up, they have to fix the whole thing and they'll end up giving you the light for free. That never happens, but if it did, that's how it goes. And the lifetime warranty covers labor too.

But that's the Jiffy Lubes in Austin that I know this from...prices may vary a dollar or two since the stores here are franchises and the ones in Houston are owned directly by Jiffy Lube International.

Anyone know if Jiffy Lube is open on 4th of July. Probably not.
I start a new 8 - 5 job on Tuesday so I wont be able to fix the headlight till next weekend. Hopefully I wont get pulled over for that. I ll keep a spare lightbulb next to me incase a cop pulls me over just to show him/her that I am about to change it :D

Unfortunately 99 Honda Accord headlights are not replaceable ~ you’ll have to tape flashlights to the hood or get a new car. :(
