After todays loss I feel like crap. But thought I'd share this inspirational story, and some pics, with you just to put things into perspective. My Family is in Australia and we all support the Rockets...(except my beautiful wife who is no expert of the sweet science, and has a thing for the spurs...) My eldest girl, Tayleesha (8), had an operation in December to remove a potentially lethal tumour in her skull that was pressing into her brain, and crushing her facial nerves. By the grace of God, and 14 hours of surgery by the number 1 neurosurgeon and top doctors in the southern hemisphere, she is alive and well. Told that she would have difficulty walking due to balance issues (her inner ear was totally removed), and would need a few months rehab before being able to stand and walk, my daughter amazed us all by walking unassisted 48 hours after the surgery...and last week won her hurdles event at little athletics. BTW: She was also hit by a car by an out of control driver when she was just 2 She loves her Rockets, especially Jordan Hill, T-Will and 'The Men that are always falling down' (Scola & Martin)...She misses Yao Ming. All three girls LOVE Clutch the Bear, especially the youngest Tahlia-Leilani, and go crazy when they see him...and my middle Girl Sarah loves the RPD who she calls 'The Rockets Dancing Princesses' When I ask her,"who is your favourite player on the Rockets?" She says, "You Dad"...(on NBA2k) When we lose she looks at me and says, "Don't worry dad, we will win the next one." How can I stay mad when we lose for too long? Cool Story? I think so. GO ROCKETS!!!! ...Our next big man Noah-James 'Baby Olajuwon' Just Thought I'd share this with y'all. From the world's biggest Rocket Fans!!!
Great story bro. Really makes me feel happy and think positive. Gooo rockets! I am happy for your daughter!
God gracious stupid Hill and Twill should man up, i can't believe freaking Hill and Twill are having such loyal fans out there, if anything, they should be practising their ass off even just for your kids' support. I pray for their future health!
Wow, I'm so happy for you and your family. This is what ClutchFans is about. I hope Clutch / the Rockets pick up on this and connect. It doesn't get any more real than that. All the best to you and yours now, and in the future --
What an inspirational thread, thank you for sharing, and congrats to your kiddo for winning the hurdles. Wonderful, simply wonderful. DD
My kid had brain surgery a year ago because of pressure built up in the brain. He was diagnosed blind and deaf when he came home, but months later, he had his diagnosis reversed. Kids brains are so resilient. I know the miracles you feel in your life and a little about the hell of the uncertainty. Many prayers going out to your family and go rox.
Plasticity is miraculous in a young child's brain, the earlier they get brain damage the more likely they recover completely. Cool story OP, nice family you have there.
