This shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. Regardless, it's cool to hear how aggressive Morey was and will continue to be.

Hindsight is 20/20, remember that the Suns wanted to waive his physical and that Amar'e had a history of injuries. Let's also not forget that Amar'e is playing under D'Antoni, a coach with a system he excels under.

I read an article that showed how even doctors are at odds over Amar'e and his knees. Without a physical and extension, Morey did right by not trading for him. A team in the Rockets position can not risk giving so much money to a guy who could be done at any point.

Maybe people can stop jumping on Morey for not landing a superstar now, he's obviously trying.

Amare is playing very well but I'm not sold on his knee lasting for the life of his contract. Hasn't it been said that a microfracture surgery lasts about 7 years?

The only way I think I would have been ok with landing Amare is if it would have helped in landing Melo this year.

Yes better to bide your time in the high lotto for another few seasons than take a risk on a player putting up 1st-Team All NBA numbers.

He'll only be 1st team all NBA if he can last the whole year.

Amare would have only been a 2 month rental and left for NY, anyway.

I wanted him here, but now I think it's good we diddnt get him, I have a feeling his knee is going to give out. Then it's going to be a Gilbert Arenes type deal where Amare struggles to get healthy and he's just sitting on the bench with a horrible contract.

Wasnt there a report over the summer along the lines of " Zero interest in Amare from Houston" ?

If he was willing to stay in Houston, why did he refuse to sign the extension?

There was no guarantee he would have resigned with us and no guarantee he stays healthy enough to put up similar like numbers next year and beyond.

Wouldn't the % raises have been higher if he signed the extension instead of leaving for NY, because the Suns had his bird rights?

If he was willing to stay in Houston, why did he refuse to sign the extension?
