(seems like I am always needing some help from all of you, most of the time yall deliver)

I got into an car accident about a month ago.
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=133972

Since then I decided to use the tow truck's body shop (Allied Collision Center) to fix what was wrong but Ive had more than enough problems with them.

There is a guy Todd that I originally spoke with and I quote said, "If you have ANY problems with anything, call me and I will deal with it". Sounds good but everytime, but once, Ive called him he has not picked up nor returned phone calls. So I am calling him full of sh*t. The 1st "free" rental car they gave us had braking issues so we returned it and got a new one. New one is not much better as it shakes repeatedly when I get somewhere in between 50-65mph plus the sticker is expired on the windshield. Its been nearly a month that they have had my car and about a month that I have had to drive their sorry excuse for a rental car (accident was on 11th of last month). Every time Ive called up at the shop to check in on my car, the 2 girls at the front have always been short with me, and rude.

Now dont get me wrong, I understand there are other issues I am probably missing but still communicate to me in a respectful way and dont get me the run around. It was a week ago yesterday that they told us it could be ready the next day. We call the next day and are told it will not be done then but could be done the next day. We call the next day and are told again, it will not be ready and to call back Tuesday. We call Tuesday, and are told IT WILL BE DONE FRIDAY (today). Their excuse was that it had to be painted. So now it comes to today, we call, and they tell us its still not done and WILL BE DONE MONDAY or TUESDAY.

Now this is just aggrevating. Wtf is going on? Can I do anything to them? I get pissed every time I talk to them cause I feel like they doing something wrong. Something is going on because this isnt normal business. Please help, people of the bbs. Advice needed...

And I better have a full tank of gas like I had when I got into the wreck...

Best advice I can give folks on here:

NEVER use the wrecker driver's body shop.

I know Allied Collision very well (i'm assuming this is the one on Bissonnett between 59 and Beltway 8) and this is par for the course.

this is ridiculous. how can they have my car for over a month, keep giving us the run around and we cant do anything about it

for future reference, in case anyone cares, NO ONE EVER USE ALLIED COLLISION CENTER. the most inconsiderate morons i have ever dealt with.

    Try BBB
It is a lengthy process though but you may help other people who may want to use that shop in the future.

have you gone down there to talk to them in person. just politely tell them what's been going on and that you just want a straight answer. they'll probably lie to you again but at least you can "accidently" spit in their face when you're talking to them.

You need to go there in person and raise some hell. Tell them you want to see your car and that you want to speak with the manager and rip him/her a new one as well.

Unfortunately, I also dealt with the wrecker's choice after a wreck and it was one the worst experiences I have dealt with. I did manage to get an employee fired, though. Lying SOB

You need to not be nice. They are taking advantage of you. It's that simple.

no I havnt gone there. There are a couple of things that I wish I did differently, one being what you stated. This whole month I havnt once visited the shop. Hell they could be using my car as a rental car for all I know.

I probably would of never picked them to fix my car but I was in a bind at the time and needed a car to get around. Insurance rental company was closed on the weekend.

The whole thing is a mess and I have the worst feeling about it all... like something seriously wrong is happening. Somehow I am going to lose my car whether it be by another accident because they didnt fix it all, or something else. Again, I AM PISSED and cant seem to work. I just want this all to end, get my car back and be done with them dumbasses. Unfortunately, we would have to deal with them again if something else occurs because of the warranty.

Well the original guy I talked to, the trucker, seemed to be the guy to talk to. Gave me his number and told me "that if anything is wrong, call him and he will fix it" but he either hasnt picked up his phone or returned a phone call. So I think he was BSing his way into making some money.

hahaha... I know exactly who you are talking about. I got in a wreck and they towed my car to this lot. The wrecker said the guy on the card would take care of everything for me. I had no choice but to let them tow it because it was Saturday and I needed to go to the ER to get checked out. I talked to the General Counsel at my office and she had a lawyer to recommend. I called him and he said unless I knew a body shop I trusted the dealer is the best place and to let him handle all the stuff. (I had to get a lawyer because her insurance company would never call me back to allow me to get a claim number,2.5 weeks later they finally call me  ).

Anyhow, So I call up this guy at Allied Collision to get my car released. He gets all angry/sad about how I am not letting him handle it. Then he puts me on hold and I can tell he has gotten into his office because it is much quieter. He starts with his whole story about how everyone is out to screw me and he is on my side and will take care of the loaner car, the body work, medical bills etc. I let him talk and at the end I just said, "So what do I need to do to get my car out of your lot?" He put me on hold and then the lady who answers the phone game me the address. He was too much of an ******* to tell me himself. Anyhow, for 4 days in that lot plus the tow he billed their insurance company more than 900 dollars. I think that is nuts but that entire industry seems so shady.

I have only met one nice wrecker in my life. My dad used to own a repair shop in the village and he had a wrecker he used regularly. The guy only did shop tows and a random tow if someone really needed help. But he was honest and even towed me a few times for free because my dad was really nice with him. But he himself said a lot of wreckers are just vultures and they will put you and your family at risk trying to to get a collision yard bound tow because they charge about 250 compared to the standard parking in the red zone tow.

They might just be keeping it there longer and longer so they can build up a nice hefty insurance claim bill. First thing i would do is go down there and ask to see the car. For all you know it's been fixed and it's just sitting there. A month in the shop is just BS.

Next time you need some good work done let me know. All my friends are dealers and have a lot of shops around town that do good work cheap.

Not necessarily. Depending on the extent of structural damage, 4-6 weeks in a repair shop (and longer) is not unheard of.

Are you talking about 2nd hand dealers? If so, I couldn't disagree more. 2nd hand dealer's quality of body work is some of the worst, on average. Their body shop's handle auction buys to fix up, and quickly and cheaply as possible so they can get it sold.
