Maybe this is too late for something like this but about 2 weeks ago I was in a car accident. Right as I was able to get out of the car, I heard the car that hit us screach off. I cant believe that someone would send us into a pole and take off w/o a care in the world... The purpose of this thread is that I wanted everyone here to look our for a green, lincoln type car with a messed up passenger side (because of me). If you could get the license plate number it would be very much appreciated. Maybe I can give some kind of reward... For those of you who care to hear what happened... Luckily we were OK besides the normal bumps and bruises. My wife was taken to the emergency room just for precaution. But I wish I could explain the situation better... the way they swerved over almost seemed like they did it on purpose. This wasnt normal switching lanes. IF anyone can be on the lookout it would be appreciated. GREEN, LINCOLN type car with the PASSENGER SIDE ALL MESSED UP. Thanks guys and please where your seltbelts. It probably saved my wife's life. She could of been life flighted from being thrown through the windshield...
I'm sorry about your accident and it's very fortunate that you and your wife are ok. But if someone were to find the vehicle you mentioned with the exact description and got the license plate, is that proof enough that (s)he was the one who hit you?
Be on the lookout for a black guy at Terlingua whose wife/girlfriend vomits out her Expedition door, causing it to collide into mine, leaving a golf ball-sized dent. Then be on the lookout for the lack of compensation, despite a police officer's mediation at the scene.
I would think its enough to contact them to investigate them and their car. compare paints and dents and im sure it gets them. hell CSI always finds them...
Its more of a civil matter. Its only criminal if it is intentional or if someone is killed (in most cases). What leads up to it is what is considered criminal (i.e. "failure to control speed"; "failure to yield right of away", etc.).
My car got rear-ended (I was stopped at a red light) about 10 years ago and the guy drove off. When I was in high school taking driver's ed, they taught us that, if we're in an accident, the first thing we should do is make sure everyone is okay. That's wrong. That's the second thing you should do. The first thing you should do is get the license plate of the guy that just hit you.
