I want to get a tattoo of the Chinese character for courage and the character for wisdom. I've found numerous references online, but I want to make sure I get them right before doing it. Here are the samples I found.

They are correc, though this one below is the more common word for courage.

Jeff, the first character you posted means more "heroic" than "courage".

Why not get the one for Power too? Then you could have the whole Triforce. :p

Van Gundier is correct. In case you want to put the 2 characters together, be sure the "wisdom" comes first, i.e. "wisdom" on the left and "courage" on the right:

The following order will look absurb:

[IMG] means courage too but it also applies to eldery and ladies.

    [IMG] is more masculine.

You must be the first person on earth to think of getting a Chinese character tattoo. Pioneer.

Just make sure you go to a reputable tattoo parlor, or else you'll be telling the entire world how much you love Kung Pao Chicken...

Well, me getting a tattoo is a stretch to begin with. :) I've always wanted something Asian for ink, just didn't know what up until now.

Thanks so much for all the help. If anyone has any more suggestions about the characters, alignment, etc, it is much appreciated. I knew I'd get help here.

If only Kenyon Martin had access to the internets before he got his Chinese character tattoo.

Not really concerned about the way they actually look. More concerned with what they mean.

I fooled Denver into giving me a huge contract for which I am undeserving because I suck. Basically.

Jeff, unless you want to imitate Manchurian soldier, avoid "courage" on your chest. :)
