I want to get a tattoo of the Chinese character for courage and the character for wisdom. I've found numerous references online, but I want to make sure I get them right before doing it. Here are the samples I found.
Van Gundier is correct. In case you want to put the 2 characters together, be sure the "wisdom" comes first, i.e. "wisdom" on the left and "courage" on the right: The following order will look absurb: means courage too but it also applies to eldery and ladies. is more masculine.
Just make sure you go to a reputable tattoo parlor, or else you'll be telling the entire world how much you love Kung Pao Chicken...
Well, me getting a tattoo is a stretch to begin with. I've always wanted something Asian for ink, just didn't know what up until now. Thanks so much for all the help. If anyone has any more suggestions about the characters, alignment, etc, it is much appreciated. I knew I'd get help here.
i saw some dude with a chinese tat, i asked my friend what it meant, and he told me the characters= "big sesame", no joke....
Jeff, unless you want to imitate Manchurian soldier, avoid "courage" on your chest. maud'dib, it sounds mar1juana to me.
haha, i could see it on some guy in china showing off to his friends his new tat that says "I am aewsome"
