It wasn't that long ago that I was paying between 0.79-0.99 for a 20 oz soft drink bottles from any of my local convenience stores. Now, I am lucky if I can find a bottle for less than 1.19 and in some of your chain convenience stores they are 1.29 before taxes and 1.40 after. It literally kills me to shell out that much money for a 20 oz bottle of soda. Any idea why the prices of these bottles has climbed so high?
Because America is going through inflation, but our government officials aren't willing to tell you yet. They have to finish paying for the war first.
dont you guys have the $.50 drinks? they dont taste as good as the main brand ones, but they are only $.50, been so for as long as i have known it.
What's messed up is that a 20oz Coke costs $1.29 plus tax when you're inside HEB, but if you wait 'til you're outside you can buy the same thing for a dollar at the vending machine.
Yeah, but it always tastes 29 cents better when you buy it inside the store. Mmmmmm....overpriced coke....so good....and you get the satisfaction of being better than those dirtbags hanging out by the dingy old machines outside.
hey...i'm one of those dirtbags hanging out by the dingy old machines!! i love sam's diet cola...a quarter outside of wal-mart. that's my stuff.
EXACTLY! I guess you get the volume deal. When I moved up here from Texas, I noticed that the drinks here a 1.40 after taxes. Down there, I was paying .79 to .99 cents a bottle. Like you said, funny thing is, you can get a 2-liter for 50 cents cheaper.
Why wouldn't the 2 liter be cheaper? It's like buying weed, the more you buy, the cheaper it will be.
What bothers me is that a bottle of water cost as much as a bottle of soda. What the hell is in that water? Crack?
at work, drinks are $1.25 for a 20oz and 75 cents for a 12oz can, so what I do, is bring me a 99 cent 2 liter, leave it at my desk, and it last me for at least 2 days.
What's really messed up is that restaurants will charge you $1.50 for a glass a soda or tea. You know that it's only costing them a penny. They've got 1000% markup on that crap. Give up sodas. It ain't worth it.
Dude, that is so freaking funny. To this day, I complain about the same thing whenever I go out with my friends, and they constantly make fun of me for it. "$1.50 for Tea?!? It's flavored tap water!" BTW, I almost always get water, or an aperitif.
some places charge like more than $2 now, at least they are free refills, but still... it only cost them like 50 cents a glass
Man in France I spent $5.50 (4 euros at the time)on a stupid ten ounce bottle of Pepsi in a restaurant. That was robbery.
