mike james himself is still probably not over the fact that the rox didn't match minnys offer or at least call from tmac or yao
What did he expect? Both were asking for MLE-type money but one came off a career year while the other is still a ? mark.
I can't post a seperate topic, so this is OT. Al Harrington will become an Indiana Pacer. Indiana News channel reported this. It'll probably be officially or publicly announced later tonight or tommorow.
Banks shouldn't cry he's in a better team, much better system, got a long-term deal. And playing in an incredibly fun atmosphere.
The T-Wolves made a mistake by signing Mike James instead of Banks. They will regret it. Kevin McHale messes up once again. Good move for Phoenix. For the sake of discussion, someone explain to me the rationale behind signing MJ and letting Banks go. Try to be persuasive. Please don't use the "keep Garnett happy" argument. Why is this a good move for the franchise?
I think the bigger question is why sign James after drafting Foye. If they had just kept Brandon Roy, the James signing would have made a hell of a lot more sense.
Completely agree. Two combo guards? Honestly, I'd take Foye over James, I think Foye has all the makings to be a true star in the NBA. He's my pick for ROY. I just see his game and see how it translates to the NBA, and then that math alone is a perfect result.
Believe me when I say this: Foye is going to be a huge disappointment in the NBA. I watched Villanova a lot, and Foye was just the best penetrator of 4 good guards. He shot 41% in college with very little range and no PG skills. I don't care how good Summer Leagues were, that spells bust in the NBA. Foye was lucky that Wade had the post-season he did, because it bumped him up at least 10 draft spots. Minnesota will be glad they picked up James. (Oh and ROY? Some floppy-haired mustached dude looks pretty good.)
I could care less about summer league, otherwise Paul would be average and Nate would be the cream of the crop. I don't think Foye will be as good with James on board, honestly, that move hindered his development. If it was without Foye, I'd really put him as the unanimous choice. I said that about Paul last seaosn, they just fit with the NBA and their team, but Paul proved it on the next level he's a winner. I don't think Foye will prove he's a winner just yet, but there's no doubt in my mind he's going to be a very good pro.
I'm undecided on Foye. It's just a mistake to draft someone that high and give him zero chance to be a starter because you signed MJ to a contract with a trade kicker. They should have kept Marcus Banks instead. Either one of Banks or Foye would have developed into the long term PG starter. MJ's selfishness will definitely hinder Foye's development. Next season McHale, Dwane Casey & Garnett will all be gone and that silly franchise will be starting from scratch. Why McHale wasn't fired two years ago is a complete mystery. Why he wasn't fired this spring is insanity.
I did not know Doug Christie had a son in the NBA Rocket River or is this the guy Doug's wife is cheating on him with . .
if minnesota had known all along that mike james was going to be there, they probably would have kept roy, or atleast that make a ton more sense then having mike james, and mike james jr. that said, they just added 2 very nice looking offensive weapons around kg so that's always a plus for them.
garnett probably wanted james on the team, he's another 'get me vet help' guy. minny have to please him as there's the danger of him walking next season.
