Why the hell is everyone so high on Portland? They're a long 2 jump shooting team. If Aldridge doesn't go 11-20 on jump shots they basically lose. Granted, he's a really, really good jump shooter but it's never sustainable over the long run.
Dang! #8 seed..we were that with Harden leading the youngest team in the NBA. No wonder I quit watching espn years ago.
It's important to also look at the W-L and not just the seeding. Not much separates 4-8. They are probably taking injuries into consideration, as well.
I like how they provide an explanation for all of the rankings. Except for ours. To be fair though, the 4-8 seeds are separated by a game or two. There's no way we get higher than 5.
Why is it that the thunder are always projected first and the spurs seem to always snag that top seed almost every year....
Do people really take ESPN seriously? I view it as a long running, 24 hour sports sitcom. The only part of it that is entertaining, besides the games, are guys like Charles and Kenny arguing or pretending to argue about stuff. In my opinion, anyway.
Well, our bench is paper thin in terms of actual proven talent, so I can see why our national perception might have taken a hit. However, what I can't stand is the complete and utter disregard of what the Ariza signing means for our defense, and the fact that we still have 2 of the best 10 players in the NBA on this roster.
The 4 and 5 spots have taken 53+ to achieve just about every year since 2000. How all of a sudden is 50 wins going to get you one of those spots!?!
I actually agree with ESPN dont be surprised if the New Orleans Pelicans make a little noise too. Baring they dont have the injury problems they had last year.
