Interviews with Brooks, Novak, Landry, Adelman and Elston Turner after Saturday's practice. http://www.click2houston.com/video/13640434/index.html
Thanks for the vid. Does Berman love Novak? He was keen on asking about him when he could. Hearing Brooks say they just run and run makes me giddy for next year's offense.
That's not Berman -- it's Keith Caulkins. They both work at Fox though. Thanks for posting the video Hilltopper... very good stuff.
Thanks! I really like how Turner and Adelman seem to be of the same mind, with good philosophies to boot. Can't wait to see our new guys on Tuesday!
Great interviews. Brooks and Landry seem like smart guys and that is encouraging. I don't know the asst. coach's name, but I was impressed with his comments. "Move the ball, move your body...makes it harder for the defense..." Amen to that. He is no Patrick (furniture) Ewing. Novak may get a break with this new system. He was totally warehoused last year.
I was impressed that Novak wanted to see dvds of Adelman's Kings when he was named head coach to get a better understanding of his offense. Smart kid.
"Most young players think that they need to score a lot of points to be seen...but our scouts are looking for team players and encourage them to play team ball." Translation: We need guys who can pass the ball to mcgrady and yao.
Am I the only one concerned that Yao is gonna be totally lost in the run-and-gun offense? I mean, he got winded often in JVG's system; how can he possibly hold up under Adelman's system? I, for one, am worried...
Thanks again for providing us with the videos when we're dying to hear ANYTHING on Rockets news. Is it just me or does Landry lick his lips a whole lot. It's like Kobe lite.
they will only be running up the court to find quick shots. otherwise they will set up an offense using screens and picks. yao shouldn't be doing any more running than he did last season. obviously he won't be expected to participate in fast breaks.
He'll be ok. Shaq didn't run up and down the floor either under Phil Jackson's offense. He typically was the caboose on the fast break.
Do a little more research. Adelman does not run a run and gun offense like the Phoenix Suns or Golden State Warriors. It is a half court motion offense whitch likes to initiate the offense in the high post. Yes Yao will have to do a little more running based on the fact that the Adelman teams look to score early in the 24 second clock but he is not going to be running and fast breaking during most of the game like the Suns do.
