So to recap the summer thus far.... ______Out_________________________________In________________ Center - Omer Asik _____________Center - Joey Dorsey / Clint Capela S. Guard - Jason Terry / Nick Johnson / Ish Smith ___ 2015 Salary__________________________ 2015 Salary__________ ___$45,000,000 _________________________$17,000,000___________ Based on what I'm seeing, we are primed for that next big move. I can see us pulling off a Dragic or Bledsoe deal by October. Morey is bada$$ with managing that money!
We cannot waste another year of Howard and Harden. Trade whatever combo of future picks, exceptions, Beverley, Terry, Jones, Montejunas, Johnson and our trash for any of these guys: PGs: Target 1: Dragic (not likely, but would be awesome) Target 2: Rondo Target 3: Bledsoe PFs: Target 1: Millsap (not likely, but would be awesome) Target 2: Ryan Anderson Pelicans Target 3: Illyasova
I agree... Waiting another year in the hopes of landing a third star is stupid. Especially when all of the stars are pretty much out of the question. All these minimum players are just ticking me off. Make a damn team already.....
HOU IN: Bledsoe (SnT), Okafor (SnT into our TPE) HOU Out: Nick Johnson, Clint Capela, TJones, Powell, Covington, Gee, Hopson PHX In: Johnson, Capela, TJones, 2 SAC 2nds, Powell, Covington PHX Out: Bledsoe SAC Out: Terry, 2 2nds SAC In: Gee, Hopson The HOU/SAC trade is already agreed to. At this point, I don't think PHX can demand much more than what I've listed here. Johnson is kind of a Bledsoe light....great athleticism and defensive potential. Capela is a front court project with big time upside. TJones is a proven quality player.
Are you sure those numbers are right? Should be using cap numbers and not actual salaries. So that $45M should be 2 x 8.3M + 1M. ie. that's what the cap have been reduced by from last season's payroll.
I think this link is accurate. The Kings and Knicks 2R we got along with Terry. http://www.prosportstransactions.com/basketball/DraftTrades/Future/Rockets.htm
Is Dmo on the Morey trade list? http://www.sportando.com/en/usa/nba/135051/donatas-motiejunas-most-likely-to-leave-rockets.html
No idea, but I have seen this posting before. D-Mo was soft during international play, so he may be on the way out. I do think Robert Covington is more likely to be cut than him.
Bledsoe, Capella, Terrence, Rox 2017 first rounder to Minny Pek, Canaan, Covington, Terry to PHX Rubio, JJ to Houston
Yeah....I just tried to make the salaries work. I can see PHX wanting more. But Pek isn't a bad contract. He's easily trade-able. ATL will take him in a hot second. And others. Pek is a very, very good low post center. He needs to be paired with an athletic help defender at the 4. But he's one of the best low-post options in the league.
The only way this trade could happen is if Terry were treated as a separate trade all by himself (do-able, since Phoenix is way under the cap, but more complicated). And so we'd give up Capela, Terrence Jones, a future first, Covington, Canaan, and Terry essentially for Rubio? (And what's left of JJ Barea, a player every team wants like they want the plague?) Setting aside Terry being an expiring contract rental. Setting aside McHale's disdain for Canaan and Covington. Setting aside Capela might actually be good in a couple years. I know you say your sources indicate Morey has no enduring love for Terrence Jones whilst nursing major wood for Rubio, but I doubt he'd let himself get raked over the coals, especially in a move that could bolster the Timberpups like that. You also need to let go of that 2015 N.O. first you covet so highly, that you think Morey will magically hide up his sleeve to use to trade for....well, That Star. Kevin Love is gone. GONE. Reeeeeeeeeeeeal gone. I mean, unless you believe that pick will be thrown in with another player for Faried or some such player, but let's not get so ahead of ourselves.
