Not exactly. I've done the math and we can get both love and rondo. The only way we could get Mello with either love or rondo is if Mello took a paycut
Parsons is still a bit taller then Melo and can grab lose rebounds and has tenacity where Melo would settle for a jumper every time. Given a better defense scheme Parsons is the better player going forward.
Haha look at the Hollinger stats  We would be -16 wins with Love & Rondo added, but Boston would be +8 with the additions of Lin, Parsons and our bench scrubs. So our projected record with a lineup of DH/Love/???/Harden/Rondo +all vet minimums/D-Leaguers/Rookies would be 38-44
I don't know how Harden and Melo can coexist when Beard already at times look frustrated having to share the ball with JLin. And Melo is going to demand the ball much more in contrary to JLin. Melo already has a sharing problem and unless he is ok with a primary catch and shoot role, or if Beard ready to share the spotlight; even though it works on paper and look awesome on NBA2k15.... it just doesn't seems like a smart move. Although it would give one more player for Mchale to rely on for iso play, and he is known for his spacing... but being creative with anything is not he strength. Its going to be painful to watch him work Beard, Melo plus DHo into something even close to what the roster has suggest on paper.
Here's the problem. Getting that "good point guard" to hand the keys over to Harden to run the offense, and taking at most 7 or 8 shots a game in order to keep Harden and Howard satisfied.
Lin, Parsons and Asik for Kevin Love and Brewer. Maybe throw in an extra player to make salaries work. Git r' done Marley
I'd give up Parsons for Love but it's going to take more...a lot more. I'd do Harden and Parsons for Love. In fact, I'm thinking 3 way... Rockets out: Parsons, Harden, Lin, Asik, DMo, 2+ million, 1st and a 2nd pick Rockets in: Love, Carmelo and Felton. Wolves out: Love and Martin Wolves in: Harden, Parsons, DMo Knicks out: Carmelo and Felton Knicks in: Martin, Asik, Lin, 1st, 2nd and cash. Rockets have 3 stars. Wolves get a star and a half for one that might be leaving. Knicks get a possible Linsanity return, a scoring SG, a good D 5 and draft picks to generate for intrigue and excitement since the most likely have no picks this year while unloading Felton.
If the Rockets were to make Parsons a restricted free agent this summer by declining his contract and then matched whatever offer he was given (say 8-10 mil), would they be able to immediately turn around and trade him or would they have to wait a certain amount of time? If they could trade him immediately after, this would give the Rockets even more salary to send out in a trade in order to match salaries. This would let the Rockets trade just two of Lin, Parsons, or Asik for 8.3mil + Parsons 8-10mil + 125% out in order to match a big contract such as Melo's or Love's. The Knicks might prefer this over having to take on Asik since he would be redundant with Tyson Chandler. I don't know if it is even possible to match Parsons and then immediately trade him and even if it is, it could be seen as a sort of mistreatment by the organization. Can you imagine Parsons signing a contract with a contender, to be matched by the Rockets, just to end up with the Knicks? That would suck for him.
Love isn't happening people. Kahn's gone. As the article says, Parsons would not stay in Minnesota (no rational coveted unrestricted FA not making max would).
Rofl... In contrary? Speaka da englesh Of course harden doesn't want to share the ball with Lin, no one does. He sucks and constantly makes mistakes. Therefore teammates can't respect him. Carmelo can get really hot on the other hand and as we saw when harden deferred to Howard at end of game 6 , better players can easily co exist. Minny isn't parting with love if parsons is best part of deal. Rox will most likely settle for Rondo, altho a competent PG is huge upgrade
Parson's stock has definitely dropped. Batum's has risen. He should have kept quiet because his remarks kept making things worse.
The team most likely will pick up the option as it makes the most sense since it allows the most financial flexibility without engaging in a long term commitment for a substantial amount of money.
Haha good catch, and I am pretty sure co exist; going by your context or any context in that matter, would be spell in one word. Don't let spell check ruin you, internet scholar. And Altho is a much longer word.... Anyways, besides the clowning what you are saying is that because players get hot, therefore they can coexist even though they are both ball dominant players. Can you give me and example of this? Before you start off with D Wade, remember Wade already own a championship ring when Lebron took his talent to Miami. Wade willing to share the spotlight with Lebron and more importantly gave Lebron the ball dominant position. You think Beard at this point of his career would be willing to do so? How can Beard share more of the spotlight when he already got dimmed by DHo and JLin. Truth to be told Wade's stats has not been the same since the arrival of Lebron. And I see that you mention Beard was willing to pass the ball to DHo down low. Let me ask you this, does James Harden play down low?? No, those are points that Beard is not going to get, of course he is going to pass. Now Melo, makes his money where Beard makes his, the scoring guy who shoulder the scoring load and takes the tough shot. How long you think each player is going to watch the other guy throwing up shots before they say screw it I am keeping this one? In addition, do you even consider the time of possession each time both player touches the ball? Or what are the percentage these possessions ends up a pass, a score or an assist? At lease Beard knows when he pass DHo the ball he is more likely to finish down low or the ball goes around. In contrast, passing to Melo means most likely he is not getting the ball back. Lastly, you think what Minny get from Rox is bad because the deal might highlight Parsons as the focal point; you must've died and resurrected when Orlando got Afflalo, Al Harrington, Vucevic and a protected first round pick for DHo hahaha
How about trade Harden for Love? Then get Melo and Rondo for some combination of Asik, Parsons, Tjones, Lin, Beverley, fillers and picks. It starting lineup would be: Dwight ( A true center!) Love ( A stretch 4 that can play defense on Aldridge type players.) Melo (A bit of an upgrade over Parsons.) Troy D. (Wow! a real "shooting" guard at the 2 spot!) Rondo (Wow! a real, "play making" point guard at the 1 spot!) I believe we would get plenty of free agents to play for the minimum to fill out this core roster.
