You could argue that people who don't know the language wouldn't be able to understand a lot of jokes. Foreigners tend to take a lot of things more literally, so most will fly over their heads. I know if someone was using slang or being cheeky in Spanish, I wouldn't be able to pick up on it. I think people are confusing sense of humor for lack of confidence in a culture that they are not familiar with. Hard to be funny and outgoing and joke around too much when you are in a completely foreign country speaking a language you may not be familiar with. It may be getting to that point where there is one shared sense of humor, but cultural barriers and language barriers still exist.
Not butthurt, think everyone explained their side and there are no ill thoughts. It just turned into a D&D about humour and adapting to a new environment.

He got asked a few questions about his Twitter game in these interviews. Really likable and funny guy lol. <script src="http://player.espn.com/player.js?pcode=1kNG061cgaoolOncv54OAO1ceO-I&width=576&height=324&externalId=espn:11303273&thruParam_espn-ui[autoPlay]=false&thruParam_espn-ui[playRelatedExternally]=true"></script> <iframe src="http://player.theplatform.com/p/C_ZQDC/OBXnIiiPouAX/embed/select/PwMJVe7kNCXw?params=zone%3Dcsnvideo&autoPlay=false" width="480" height="270" frameborder="0" seamless="seamless" allowfullscreen>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/TedsAKIMgN4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> So the internet is a buzz that Joel Embiid actually said "At Kansas, there's so many hoes" while talking about dating on national tv. Let’s settle this now before it’s all over the place and everyone is drinking the Kool-Aid. Joel Embiid obviously has a thick, #WeAllFromAfrica accent. It’s deep, dark and delicious. If Embiid ever finds himself in a three way with Dikembe Mutombo and The Cookie Monster it’s a sound engineer’s wet dream. And that’s why it’s tough to hear. Do I wish he said “hoes”? Absolutely. It might have been what he actually meant. But Embiid clearly says, RULES. In Kansas there were so many rules that prevented him from dating and doing stuff on Twitter. Joel is too smart to say anything questionable on camera other than when talking about how his dick is fluent in 8 languages. Also, why is Joel Embiid talking about dating on national TV? It’s because he’s a genius. Establish a character now for a post NBA Hall Of Fame career or something to fall back on if he ends up being Greg Oden 2.0. Praying for the former.

Forget Embiid.... That's the creepiest picture I've ever seen of people in the background. WTF is going on? Looks like some **** in a horror movie.
