For all Floyds bravado this is seriously a bad decision on his part. unless he's dangling the khan, garcia, etc fights to negotiate a new contract then it dont make sense.

 

Some writers think it's all in a plan for a May v. Pac II. Even if it were a fraction of buys from the first fight it's still a huge payday. Planned from the beginning, post fight, Pac complains of shoulder. Now we hear Pac is healing up great post surgery. Next you'll hear stuff about May wanting to get his 50th win. MGM has a new arena they want to have a big event at. Rumors start, Roach talks about how Pac can go all out now. We get suckered again. May tells Pac...let's do the exact same thing, I get my 50, you get paid again.

That is all in jeopardy if May can't win his 49th. In comes Berto. Nope, not GGG, Khan, Cotto II, Canelo II, Thurman, etc. I suppose it doesn't sound that far fetched.

I understand that they have something of an obligation to hype the fight since it's on their airwaves, but their breathless promotion of the fight with commercials disguised as segments during SportsCenter has been over the top.

 

I'm not buying what they are selling necessarily, but I was a fan of Abner Mares for a while and thought that before getting knocked out by gonzales that he was a top 10 p4p fighter.

This is going to be a GREAT fight.

 

Mosley vs. Mayorga 2 is also tonight. I have low expectations for this but the press conference is at least entertaining.
