Or voters take it more seriously. Do we really want to hold it against Curry that some fools didn't vote for Jordan back in 96?
Voting is also no longer anonymous. You can't hide from being blasted for idiocy if you vote just to be a contrarian or for some other ridiculous reason.
It's the opposite. Curry doesn't deserve extra credit for being the first unanimous winner. The story here isn't Curry -- it's the NBA national writers not producing total incompetent dumbasses for once this year and making the right, objective choice.
It is still kinda about curry, as he simply shut his haters up. He shut them up good since the first weeks for Christ sake. He left no survivor. It is also true that no other players had a transcendental season. Like when Jordan should've won but they still gave it to Malone with pity votes, same with Derrick rose. The 73-9 also left no more room for any hater argument. As mentioned, the public poll and social media did keep potential haters in check as well. The convincing fashion with which Curry carries himself as the best, I think, is probably unprecedented. Fancy dribbles and split second release at 35ft, every few times a game? Unprecedented confidence.
1. Force him to play defense 2. bump him early and often 3. Come hard over the screens and stay close to him Rocket River
Only way to force Curry to play defense is with someone else forcing Green/Thompson/Igoudala/etc. to play enough defense that they can't help Curry with his man. This is why the Thunder are so effective, Durant is too much for Green to handle.
legit question. separate Curry from GSW's system and their moving screencs, how good is he really? can he carry a team on his back and win 50+ games with just bunch of role players and make it to the WCF?
I have to say I am impressed with the amount of contact that the refs are allowing on Curry - he clearly is being bothered by the physicality of the Thunder. Let's see if he can adjust in front of his home crowd. This series isn't over.
