Mavs traded for the 2015-16 Warriors 5th most important player and signed its 6th most important player to the max. At double the contract of the MVP.
This free agency has left me clueless. When Players like Barnes get the max, superteams like the Warriors and Spurs emerge, something is deeply wrong with the System. What to do for a Team like Dallas or the Rockets? I have no idea. Go the Mavs way with Players like Barnes that seem to have potential but never reached it? Go the Rockets way with Players that used to be great but are injury prone and past their prime? Blow it all up and hope for draft picks? With that last Season and this FA, Basketball just got a whole lot harder to watch and follow...
I pick Barnes over Anderson. Younger, star potential, not an injury prone And the money is close 3,5M a year
"free agent to be"??? Did Mavs-homer, Mark Stein, write that tweet in June, with knowledge Cuban was meeting with Barnes prior to free agency?
Eh, same here, he may not be that good, but i would've want him more than Anderson and Gordon, at least he can still get better, two way player who can actually stay on the floor for more than 50 games per year...
I was trying to make a joke, that failed. Guess Stein is pointing out Barnes Bird Rights were renounced to remove the cap hold, thus UFA vs RFA.
You build through the draft. Look at OKC, they should have won it all this year on mainly homegrown talent
Man, I don't get this. I don't know if I'm off on this, but I feel like I'd much rather have Parsons than Barnes. Parsons isn't a #1 option, but is almost a perfect 2nd/3rd scoring option. Wish Rockets still had him.
If it's a question which stretch 4 I'd prefer. Give me the one who shoots better, younger, more athletic, plays much better defense. Barnes.
