Yet again they are making their charge post all star break. Just 1 loss out of home court advantage.... in my mind little doubt they get there. i give them another 25 years before Duncan and Ginobli are officially 'too old' As a side note, if they get home court it could be the first time any division has had 3 teams with HCA in the playoffs
It'd be the first time because it's not possible. All 3 division winners in the West get home court. Golden State and Portland are more or less locked into home court.
Actually...I think you're right about that. Pretty sure there's that thing where the 5 seed can get home court over 4. Portland is in free fall, so I guess it could happen.
Expect Popovich to try to avoid the 4th seed in order to delay meeting up with Warriors until the WCF to give his team the best chance..
Did you just pat yourself on the back? I think it's happened before (where a 5 seed got HCA over a 4 seed) because the 5 seed happened to win a division, yet had a worse record than the 4 seed.
division winner will get 4 seed technically, but the 5th seed would get HCA because of the better record. interestingly, the Blazers could drop to the 7th best record in the West and still claim the 4 seed (they wouldn't have HCA though) - the way Portland is playing this is actually a likely scenario
If Blazers keep sliding and Thunder keep winning we might see a swap... Wow. Thunder 4 seed and Blazers 8 seed.
wait: The Spurs lost on Tuesday, and you say they are making their charge? Isn't this more about Portland losing 5 in a row. LAC have won 4 in a row now that they are at full strength. And they have the easier schedule. 5 out of their last 7 away games are against tanking teams. I don't see SAS overtaking both LAC and POR. One of them, yeah.
I really believe with a healthy squad, Rockets could pull it out. I just love what Brewer, Smith & Jones bring off the bench
They were 4th if they won today i think? Only warriors have won more of their last 10 (of west playoff teams) I expected more of you heyp. Blazers +9, Clippers +9, Spurs +10
Yep, that's right, but it's still tough to overtake two teams like that, especially when LAC has such as easy away schedule. Plus, Spurs at 18-18 road is just not normal for them. They will have a lot to do if LAC knocks off those tankers on the road.
Didnt Houston have home court vs Utah back in the Yao Tmac days even though we were the 5 seed but had a superior record?
for some reason I started watching game 7 of 2007 playoffs yesterday, know what killed us down the stretch....offensive rebounds Harpring, AK, Okur, Boozer those bastards man. Missed shot, offensive rebound, missed shot, offensive rebound then the dagger three by Okur. Fk the Jazz.
