[Woj] Rockets met with Sam Cassell for coaching position

Sam has a better post up game than Dwight.....

 

Can you imagine Sam doing the BIG BALLS dance in a timeout to get the team hyped? I can.

 

Interesting idea. Former Rocket point guard with a deep knowledge of the game. A champion, with the Rockets. Seven years experience as an assistant. A guy with a strong personality, which we need. Unafraid - of damn near anything, in my humble opinion.

I hope they give him a good look.

 

How could someone could want Luke Walton but not Sam is beyond me

I don't want Kenny Smith or Sam Cassell as the Rockets next head coach.

However Sam Cassell is a very bright basketball mind.

 

Again.... Morey doesn't decide who the next head coach will be and he doesn't decide how the process takes place.

I'd like to give Sam a shot, I didn't like trading him because he's a winner and a gamer. I respect JVG, but I'm not sure he's right for this team. I think Sam could be what the doctor ordered and what a story to come back where you started playing to coach.

Sam's going to be a helluva coach somewhere and it feels right.

On the other hand, when JVG left, I was more than ready for an Exit Stage Left. Now, I'm thinking he might very well be the ANSWER.

Probably can't go wrong with either.

 

Assistant under Flip and Doc, two really respected guys with tons of experience. Sam would also help in recruiting because damn near everyone respects the hell outta him.

If you're going former Rocket Champ, Sam makes much more sense than Kenny Smith.

 

Kenny Smith just has that rockstar appeal to him. Give me the Jet
