Very few HOF players ever want to coach unless they have an ego problem to stay in the spotlight (Isiah and Kidd come to mind). The only top 50 players off the top of my head who coached without an ego or chip on his shoulder (looking at you Bill Russell, I have a story to tell about this): Bird (but he didn't really want to coach) Billy Cunningham (fo fo fo coach) Lenny Wilkens and who can name the 4th one on my list of easy to remember ones???
nooo. I already said he and Isiah fall under ego players who coached to stay in the spotlight. answer is much easier. so, disappoint in cfnet.
never a head coach, and even still the answer is easier. I'm beginning to think y'all are pretending to not know the answer.
They had Gasol, too. If everything went according to plan, it would be Lakers v Heat for at least 5 years. Now, not even close.
Must be pretty severe back problems if they knew Nash is going to miss the entire season this soon. Or did the Lakers just decide to shut Nash down for the entire season so they can collect some insurance money?
This sounds fishy, they would have known earlier he would not be able to play and perhaps wanted him to retire so he would come off the books and I'm guessing he wanted his money so this was the only way both parties get what they want. Nash gives the lakers the disabled exception, And Nash keeps his money. Something is def strange about this happening at this time.
I think they're just not announcing his retirement so they can trade his contract if need be? He wouldn't actually switch teams, but a $10m expiring might come in handy, who knows? In any case, cheers to an awesome player. A player everyone could root for.
Wait swaggyp was gonna come off the bench too? Were they really gonna have a 5M PF and 8M PG come off the bench?
Had a question. Assuming Nash doesnt 'retire' but still cannot play, so what happens to his salary cap numbers? Can the Lakers force a "medical" retirement and sign someone for the $9M(?) that will be freed up? Sad to see him like this. He was a fun player to watch in his heyday.
