Could he ever be the great player everyone presumed he'd be out of college or have we pretty much seen all there is to see?.. Thoughts?
He has issues playing in a system, he is 100% a guy who needs the ball and can score it. He has elite scoring ability but it freezes everyone else out, and he is just not good enough to be THE MAN like Harden. 6th man at best. DD
Beasley was out of the league last season before desperation forced the Rockets to take a look see ..... If he's a rotation player , your team is in trouble.
15-16 brewer on roids. instead of 7ppg, he'll get a whopping 7.5ppg! on 7.2 fga! talk about most efficient bench player of the year iguodala faints
He was a spark in a shet offense last year which just says how bad our system was last year when Beasley is your second go to scorer
I think he can still be a good role player..... depending how MDA is going to use him Ceiling probably at 11 pts and 5 rbg given reasonable minutes
Best case scenario, he's a decent rotational guy who can provide a spark offensively off the bench and bring some athleticism and rebounding to the rotation while hopefully not giving up too many points on the defensive side of the ball. Worst case scenario, he's a black hole offensively who kills your rhythm when he comes in the game and shows poor shot selection while being a sieve on defense and ultimately is a strong nightly DNP candidate midway through the season. But this idea that Beasley is suddenly going to realize his potential this far into his NBA career and be the Rockets' savior is kind of ridiculous. It's far more likely that he's not on the Rockets roster at all by the trade deadline than that he's starting or showcasing 6th man of the year potential.
If the season goes well, we do not need another savior. Sure if the season does not go well, we'll see. At least it cannot get worse than last year.
Some players 'get it' later in their careers...but that just moves him into the rotation. He'll never be the star some thought he'd be. That ship has sailed, come back to port, sailed a few more times, retired, and been replaced.
