I think the rockets have a good chance to sweep especially since parsons, rondo, and harris are all out

My boss stated put your money where your mouth is -

So he suggested that if the rockets sweep, then he gives me a free PTO, but if the rockets don't sweep then I have to come in on a Saturday for 4 hours to work.

What are the odds of rockets sweeping?

I think the rockets has a 65% chance to win Friday and 75% chance to win Sunday if they win Friday - ends up being around 49% chance that they sweep

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks!

If they win game 3, then Mavericks will start looking forward to offseason and looking at nice summer vacation spots with no intent of going on to next round and lose game 4.

Seriously, can we put a moratorium on these 2nd round/sweep/Rockets will beat the Mavs threads?! Do any of these posters remember 2005 or 2007? An 2-0 lead is meaningless. If the Rockets go up 3-0, then we can start talking sweep or 2nd round since no team has ever come back from that deficit.

Just take the bet. PTO is gold compared to the possibility of 4 hours of work.

Some of you guys need to look up the word "jinx". This isn't the first time we've been up by 2 on Dallas in the first round, how bout we take this one game at a time.

I say ~ 70% chance, they are not just good right now. It is up to us to play good basketball or not.

No way we can lose. It is impossible. We are playing a horrible team. We can even let our guard down, and get down by 50 points in the first half, and I would still put my life saving we would out score them by 51 in the second half.

If the 4 hours of work on Saturday are paid, then it's a win-win bet pretty much

I say the refs beat us Friday night. Vegas has dallas as -1 pt favorite. Which to me is a slap in the face to HOU. I understand that they are at a home but they are missing a few players and we just got done beating that ass. Look for refs to be all over this game against Houston. I wouldnt take the bet. I always felt that we would finish them in 5 anyway.

It's hard to sweep, it should be over in 5.

Dallas I think will find a way to win 1 at home (Dirk and/or Monta unstoppable night (possibly ref help too))

I dont care if we sweep. Take 1/2 in Dallas and close the deal in game 5 in Houston, and I will be pleased.

Overall, 61% of playoff series are 2-0 after 2 games, but only about 15% end in sweeps. So about 1 in 4 leads of 2-0 result in sweeps.

If you have massive balls, you take that bet but for Dallas. "We're down 0-2, I'll bet you PTO vs 4 hours on a Saturday that Dallas will sweep!" But sir, you can't sweep if you're down 2-0. "I like to live dangerously"

    I'll tell you exactly...

In the first round of the NBA playoffs, the team with the home court advantage for the series who have been up 2-0, are 27-28 in game 3. That's a 49.1% chance the team goes up 3-0.

Of the teams with home court advantage for the series that are 3-0 in the first round of the NBA playoffs, they are 18-9 in game 4. That's 66.7% winning percentage in game 4.

    So...

    .491 x .667 = .327

So based on previous history, the probability of the Rockets sweeping are 32.7%
