Not really a U2 fan except for their very early stuff, but Songs Of Innocence is off-the-chain good ... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/LF0rKW1DEMo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
One of their very best! Have you checked out the aborted version of Amorica? Has some of the same songs and many more that are among the bands best like Song of the Flesh, Feathers, Low Down which is Ballad in a different form, Thunderstorm 6:54, Tornado, Tied Up and Swallowed and another early take of Evil Eye. They spent over one million on it before redoing it for Amorica and came out along with the Band LP, post 3 Snakes Pre-By Your Side aborted LP, in 2006 under the title Lost Crowes. HIGHLY recommend!!!

The New Basement Tapes - On The River Lyrics written by Bob Dylan in '67 at Big Pink, left in a drawer for 50 years. Music written recently by "big names". Some sounds a whole lot like a Dylan song, some completely doesn't. About 50% interesting, 50% meh to unlistenable. Generally, the better the original lyric, the better the song. Chick from Carolina Chocolate Drops has a hell of a voice. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/JRHs51F0wkY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The comments on that YT video are hilarious. Whatever the truth may be, the sentiment of the song reminds me of a scene from this Swedish movie. <iframe width="700" height="445" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/dm4Uw5_SCyI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
