How good is Loris? I imagine he's better than Minyolay, because anyone with a brain is better than idiot Minyolay. How come I haven't heard anything about this rumor?
What does this mean for LFC? I want to ask if there is a chance, but LFC might as well play in Asia next season because they're so far away from European competition.

He's one of the best young keepers in Germany, would definitely be an improvement over Mingolet. German media saying he'll have a medicine check tomorrow.

Götze saying he wants to stay and I think this move supports that sentiment.

Very happy to have won the FA Cup but how United handled LVG's sacking bothers me to no end right now. Very classless to have the info leaked right after the game.

Not sure if I'm on board with Jose as the new manager. He did have Chelsea in the relegation zone 6 months ago... and his lack of youth development and media antics...

My concern for United is that the players began to become miserable under LVG's reign in that he held them strictly to the system that they didn't seem to enjoy. Jose coming in doesn't seem like that will get any better.

De Gea allegedly threatened to leave if Van Gaal stayed. I've seen where hiring Jose puts them in a better position to sign some of the bigger names this summer...like Ibra.

Well that would be a change. A talented player on a free transfer, compared to a mediocre player for a ridiculous fee.

    Zlatan might go anywhere,

Premier league, back to Italy, MLS(probably not enough dough), China, Middle East

    LVG is a goner.

Looks like Mou is the front runner. Not a fan of him. I expect him to stay 2-3 years and then bounce like his history suggests

LVG didn't do a great job, but the way he was ousted was a bit of a pity. Instead of celebrating an FA Cup win, he got a barrage of questions from the media. Definitely leaves a sour taste. I'm also surprised they're going for someone like Mourinho.

ATW, what's Basti going to do now? Am guessing one of the main reasons for his being there is LVG.

I agree that it was a bummer how they treated Van Gaal but he was going anyway.

I was less happy about the prospects of Mourinho than I am now. I agree with FTW Rockets FTW that he's likely a 3 year project...which is perfectly fine with me. Give Ryan Giggs a chance to go out and be the head man somewhere for a few seasons to finish his preparations of becoming the true successor to Sir Alex.

Antonio Conte just ripped the MLS. Says he left Giovinco and Pirlo off Italy's squad because they play in the MLS and aren't up to snuff tactically.

While I think he's being a vengeful douche for excluding Giovinco from the roster, he's not totally wrong. The MLS is doing the typical "American" thing, and trying to expand too quickly while maximizing profits. This leads to a diluted player-base, and tactics quickly disintegrate when a team has no depth. MLS still has a far way to go in terms of gaining respect from Europeans, but that's more of an overall sentiment. I think Giovinco would succeed no matter where he played, so to exclude him simply because he plays in America is pure salt and nothing else.

So unnecessary and stupid. Actually destroying value, and being a distraction to our Euro preparation. Purely ego-driven. And in a few years, they will beg him to come back and offer 80 million. Like with Hummels. Disgusting.

And... Jose Mourinho it is. Worst kept secret in football finally revealed.

Not sure what to make of this.

    What a day!

My two favorite clubs, the two I follow most closely announce new managers / coaches at almost the same time.

Welcome to Old Trafford - Jose Mourinho
Welcome to Toyota Center - Mike Anthony

One is known to be a defensive park the bus specialist and the other is known to be a no defense offensive guru - can we just combine their skills?

Anyway, Jose will have to reconsider his style of play and play the more attractive Manchester United brand of football which LVG never did and fans didn't appreciate

Jose also has to promote from the academy and actually give them a chance. I'll be furious if Rashford gets loaned out next season. Lingard, Varela, Fosu-Mensah, Borthwick-Jackson are all capable 1st team players.

Trying to make coaching comparisons across sports, Thibs is a poor-man Mourinho, Sir Alex is like Pop, Kerr is Guardiola, who else is there?

Mou is Larry Brown. D'Antoni is a poor man's Wenger.
