I don't know what it is about Red. But the red gets the blood boiling. I have a feeling it will be super loud in that stadium. Not that it isn't, as I feel that NRG is a top 5 "12th" man in the league.
I remember Steve Slaton having a monster game in those all red uniforms. I think it was a Monday night game vs Denver 2008-ish
Steve Slaton was basically a smaller, less athletic version of Reggie Bush, he could do some exciting things in space, but probably never broke a single tackle in his career. Slaton is currently the 12th best RB in the CFL and is playing for the Toronto Argonauts.
I disagree with your summary of Steve Slaton but appreciate the update of his CFL goings on. Am glad he is still running.
More so than that he has almost as many receiving yards as rushing yards. No one will confuse him for one of the best weapons in the CFL, but I bet people in Toronto appreciate him.
Love the battle red jerseys. Miss the red pants with it as well. There is just something about that red.
man, the momentum we carry for the rest of the season if we win this will be huge.. here's hoping for a rare win
Man, I went to "the unveiling" of the name/logo at the mayor's office here in Austin that day. I was so bummed to find out they didn't stick with the white helmets! I still have three original OG t-shirts with the white helmet. The red jerseys are great. I absolutely HATE the "unitard" look of teams that have the pants and jersey match (other than white, which is freaking awesome). Red-red and blue-blue looks ridiculous.
It was a Thursday night game. I remember having to go to a bar because Time Warner didn't have the NFL Network then. Also remember it for Mario Williams going off and getting 4 sacks. Were you just waiting with a Steve Slaton post ready for an excuse to bash him? That seemed unnecessary.
I bet it will be open on Sunday. The Cowboys actually open up AT&T stadium even less... probably because they don't want any sun damage on that huge TV they have hanging.
If its a domed stadium and they dont open it...then why would you ask if NRG has a roof? You must have gotten confused bc your initial question should have been, "NRG can be an open air stadium?".
