I hope Lawson can beat it, this explains why his contract was truncated.

Sounds like this is his last chance, let's hope he gets help and stays sober.

Those blaming the Nugs need to remember Eddie Griffin, the org can't force him into counseling.

Look at Steve Francis now, alcohol had a major effect as to why he got run out of the league.

Denver is classless. This is a very personal issue and airing dirty laundry is a terrible way to treat anyone. Ty may have his demons but this is inexcusable. Can you imagine an employer doing this to any employee in such a public way? As a Human Resources professional, we would get read the riot act for speaking like this about an employee with a problem.

Denver was clearly trying to do some PR on a lopsided trade. They were robbed.

So there's a reason why his price was so low. Well it's a gamble. I hope we--and Lawson-- win out.

We can also speculate that this shows Morey has a lot of contacts on the other teams (or agents) to know the price was that low and he was only bidding against the Lakers (per Kroenke's comment). So much for the theory that no one will talk to Morey, anymore.

I can see him talking to Lawson's agent saying, "You don't want to go to LA. He just got a DUI there. We're his best option, but we want you to make the 2nd year non-guaranteed." I also think Denver had already been discussing a 50% buyout with the agent, so dropping a year was already on the table.

Kudos to Morey for knowing/negotiating the rock-bottom price, since he had no competition.

its a low risk to take, period. if he doesnt work out then we go for 2016 FA. Honestly, for the players we offered to trade Ty with, who else could we possibily be getting that is better? Not to mention, we lost none of our core pieces in the process and those players are highly replaceable.

More fuel for Lawson turning it around in order to prove them and the court of opinion wrong.
