Or more likely he was just watching the news, saw that go down, then rewound it and filmed it.

I don't know. OP has been posting a lot of fake news stories lately. This might be similar to that "FHRITP" guy.

She was probably about to be fired for being involved with that organization.

Being a weather reporter for Alaska news must be a redundant job.

That's not at all necessarily true; particularly given her behavior on air and the negative publicity and stigma for what will ultimately require partnering with politicians and dealing with whatever licensing her particular dispensary operations might require down the road. Furthermore there's a racial element that doesn't really mix well with implications of drug use and a lack of maturity in a professional setting. This will prove to have been a big, dumb mistake and probably only for the sake of looking cool to a specific set of friends.

Well done. Probably not a very bright move but, then again, the extra media exposure might be a good thing.

Can confirm that this was the first joke made in the Deadspin comments section.

Could have flashed the camera for a better effect.

    Disappoint.

She started an IndieGoGo campaign for her political fight:

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/alaska-cannabis-club-s-freedom-fairness-fight

On the good side (for her), the media exposure probably helped fund it nearly immediately. On the bad side, she probably put way too low a target on it. $5k is not exactly very much. Not sure how IndieGoGo works and if she gets any extra money raised or not.

Oh she could raise a million dollars and keep practically everything if it were the case. After her news stunt, I'd be disappointed if she didn't at least double her goal.

Gotcha - at the time I posted it, it said she raised $5000 of her $5000 goal, so I wasn't sure if it topped out there or it was coincidence. Apparently, it was the latter because she's up to $5200 now.

She should just show up the next day for work and pretend like it never happened and see if they take her back.

That seems like a good career to throw away.
