Matt Williams inserted Papelbon into the game yesterday after the incident. Hard to imagine him not getting fired after the season.
What a disaster. Too many injuries. Too much questionable game management. Too many over-thought roster tweaks that didn't pan out. If you told me Bryce Harper would become the best player in the NL this season AND the Nats wouldn't make the playoffs I would have thought you were crazy. At least the Astros still have hope (also filed under things you could have told me in April that made me question your sanity.)
DCKid, can you go tell those Astros fans about the Nats and being "sure things for years to come"? It hasn't quite panned out as expected, has it? As for Papelbon, ******* through and through. b****ed his way out of Philadelphia, made Washington or any acquiring team move Storen out of the closer's role as a prerequisite to the trade, and then the cherry on top with Harper. A-S-S-H-O-L-E. I suspect/expect Matt Williams will be out of a job here soon.
