Its no scorn, I'm simply going by the quotes from Christian scripture...

Exodus 21:20-21 – "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property."

Deuteronomy 20:10-15 – When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the LORD your God gives you from your enemies. This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.

Leviticus 20:10 - 'If a man commits adultery with another man's wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

Exodus 35:2 – " For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

Leviticus 20:13 – "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

Deuteronomy 25:11-12 – "If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity."

Hosea 13:16 - "The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open."

Deuteronomy 17:12 - "Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the Lord your God must die. In this way you will purge the evil from Israel."

As far as violence in the name of Christianity... How do you feel about the Crusades, the Spanish inquisitions, the justification of slavery in Colonial America, Salem Witch trials, slaying of Jews and their synagogues in early 4th century, Bosnians in the 90s, etc. I'm just saying, Islam is not the sole culprit as far as violence in the name of religion.

    Exodus 21
Reading the whole chapter and context of the situation (descendants and partakers of Egyptian slavery) makes the isolated verse sound less harsh than the way you presented. It is actually revolutionizing what they are doing by placing the live of a slave on par with the master they are giving them equal weight, and this is for both foreigner and jew. Early in the passage it alludes to it being more like indentured servitude and not Confederate south slavery. Also any harm done to a slave will give cause for their release v. 27

    Deuteronomy 20
First it lets enlisted soldiers go back to be bed their wife if they have not...just saying. Again context is key, God is promising Israel the promise land but there are going to be obstacles in the way. This absolute warfare seems barbaric and strange, but if you keep reading you see that because they did not always do it the descendants end up being the ones who bring about later destruction. While we think this is crude it is because we do not know the total picture.

    Leviticus 20, Exodus 35
It seems harsh because our view of wrong does not compare to God's. The law shows how serious God is about sin, not just murder but all wrong doing has dire consequence, and this also gets brought up in Matthew/Romans when discussing why the Law was given.

    Deuteronomy 25
Um yea... The preceding verses talk about the role of widows. Large importance on the being fruitful and multiplying part so, potentially damaging that aspect of the other male and maybe shaming your husband by saving him in such a manner?

    Hosea 13
This one is real easy, its prophesying the consequence of Ephraim rebelling against God (human sacrifices, false gods mentioned earlier). I believe it is the Assyrians who will do this so... not sure why this one is hear.

    Deuteronomy 17
Without be lengthy priest served a crucial role at the time as the people who were supposed to convey God's, and judges interpreted the Law so you are basically rebelling against God when you reject their verdict.

    tl;dr context and reading errors

The bible is full of bad parts as well. The difference is that 99.9 % of Christians simply ignore those parts (or, even likelier, never heard of them in the first place and wouldn't even believe or care they existed if they heard of them).

The KKK is a Christian based group. Interesting thing is religiously the US is said to be a Christian based nation but yet we're always at war or involved in some conflict. Not because of religious reasons but to protect interest. That's why we don't send our soldiers just anywhere. But just the same we're a nation that likes to battle and war is business.

But none of this is about religion. Religion is just a easy talking point. It's always about power and control and or politics... Heck, religion is about power and control. There are always people at the top who have control over the people beneath them in some form or fashion and they use that control to accomplish their goals. In many nations in Africa if someone wants to be president/ruler and they have followers _ they kill people to get what the want and or for revenge.

Europe, Africa, the middle east, etc is an old world... Civilization has been around along time over there and they have old world beef. Plus there are many in Africa and the middle east who don't want the influences of the western world (Europe and America) so it will probably always be conflicts in those places...
