We BEAT Villanova at their own place last year. Not sure why they're rated ahead of us, but eh....preseason polls. Can't really argue with NDSU. I'm hoping for another date with them in Frisco. Maybe the 3rd time's a charm... Really hope we can pull an upset in Lubbock this year. It would be great for Sam Houston to finally get a win against the Big 12 and great for the FCS in general.
There are some ranking us #2. http://www.scout.com/college/texas-tech/forums/1650-football/13917715-shsu-ranked-2nd-in-sporting-news-preseason-fcs-top-25 Took that link from katfans. Has some chatter from TTU fans about the game. I think we have a good chance.
SHSU, FOX Southwest announce partnership Nice. Though lolz that we're grouped with high school football.
The high school thing is a great thing. While they're broadcasting the hs games, they'll be talking about SHSU football. It's free advertising and a great recruiting tool.
Texas Tech this weekend. Looking forward to the season. Are we able to watch this one on TV? Fox Sports Southwest?
They've lost to Abilene Christian 3 times? We've got a real good shot to win this game. Tech is not good this year.

Trying not to get my hopes up against tech, but this will probably be one of our best shots at upsetting a (sort of) legit FBS team in years. Hope we run the ball and win the TOP battle. Trying to win a shoot-out won't work. Of course, I have a gig in Austin on Saturday so I'll be on the road and unable to watch the game.
Hmmmm...... Anyway, not a bad showing against a much-improved FBS program. Turnovers and special teams killed us. We hung right with them in the 1st half. I feel like we can run the table for the rest of the year and get home-field for the playoffs. I'll be disappointed if we don't, frankly.
I can't imagine a Southland team that will be able to hang with us...assuming what we saw of the offense on Saturday is the real thing.
I had no idea that Jared Johnson wasn't our undisputed guy at QB. I hadn't heard of the other guy until he came in the game. Johnson is very inaccurate, but otherwise he's pretty damn good. Hopefully the competitive will motivate him to improve his accuracy.
Check it out - SHSU at #1. How long will this last? Having our off week so early really sucks. I'm sure NDSU and/or Coastal Carolina will jump us next week in the standings after they win.
FCS rankings are strange. We go to #1 the week of losing to a FBS team but drop to #5 after not playing and move behind a team that also lost to a FBS team (Jacksonville St.) and got no first place votes. WTF?
