Bringing out the Dead with Nicolas Cage, Patricia Arquette, John Goodman. Directed by Scorscese, so good 4/5!

    The Raid 2...wow.

It had a slow buildup and the story was a bit convoluted at times, but the action scenes were brutal and fight choreography exceptional. That last act was intense. Definitely one of the better action films of the decade.

    8/10

I hate it when studios show chunks of every significant scene from a flick in the trailers. When the story is essentially told in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. You're supposed to tease the audience, not serve them a buffet before dinner.

    Tomorrowland - 4/10.

A big snooze fest. Then it became disgusting Hollywood political commentary. Just bad.

    Tomorrowland - 5/10

    Act 1 & 2 of Tomorrowland - 8/10
    Act 3 - 1/10

Potential for a great movie was there, but was not realized. Act 2 to Act 3 transition was sloppy. I strongly suspect that Act 3 was a late rewrite.

Sucks to hear the poor scores for Tomorrowland I was looking forward to seeing that - now I'll wait for the dvd

Here are the last few movies I saw:

Focus: 5/10 - Was ok nothing too great nor terrible about it

Avengers: 7/10 - definitely had its moments but felt at times disjointed. Felt there were things cut (and it appears there was) that kind of made scenes look out of place. Definitely felt more of a "set up" movie

Mad Max: Fury Road: 9/10 - the non-stop action was excellent. It was hard to hear/understand some of the dialog early but the rest was just a total nonstop ride

I am trying to watch Ex Machina this week - spent most of the weekend catching up on Blacklist and Agents of Shield

    Mad Max - 9/10

This is how you do an Action Film. Non stop crazy action, crashes, kills, explosions! Not much else to say, it's not claiming to be anything else, don't expect anything else.

    Coherence 9/10

Can't remember if I had recommended this one but if your into twilight zone weirdness you will like this, and there's not a dull moment once you get passed about 10 - 15 minutes in.

Basically during a meteor shower, a group of friends at a dinner party find out that there is some weird black hole area in their neighborhood that transports them into an alternate reality where they encounter themselves in an alternate world. And from this point on, it takes off and gets even crazier.

The film apparently was shot without a script in order to create a more realistic feeling in the dialogue from the characters. Give it a shot, it has excellent reviews everywhere.
