Great Vid By Coach Nick detailing the Rockets, his analysis is pretty good. Does call Dabear patpat by accident however. Hoping the embed works. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/374x8V2rouo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Cool. I really enjoyed Coach Nick's breakdowns from last season. Good to see him doing one for the Rockets.
I find what he does very interesting and entertaining. I understand a few of the finer points of the offense, but not much and he does a good job of breaking down what teams are actually trying to accomplish with their movement and sets.
I think teams should share this kind of stuff with fans-- basic info/breakdown videos of their offensive and defensive tactics, sets, etc. Post videos like these up on the websites, or even have "basketball appreciation" seminars held by assistant coaches for fans. I think it will increase fan interest in the sport by helping them better appreciate the work that goes into each game. It's unlikely to hurt the teams in games as long as the stuff you introduced in games are stuff that the opposing coaches, players and scouts already know anyways.
In post/pre game shows or are there programs devoted to it? I tend to only catch the games on League Pass and don't get to see the other shows.
Does anyone know if the Synergy stats for last year are available anywhere? They were mentioned in the video.
Wow, I didn't realize any of that was intentional lol, I thought we occasionally look like chickens with our heads cut off on offense. Great to show me that I know nothing about basketball. Nonetheless, in spite of all that set play movement, he still calls us a pretty simple team. I wonder what complicated offenses look like!
