I didn't see the tweets The Cat was referring to when he said that Brian Smith was happy they lost or something similar. David Barron retweeted JJO to which I responded he should do us all a favor and just quit. Had to then tell Barron I didn't mean him.
Found it. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/OrtizKicks">@OrtizKicks</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/dfbarron">@dfbarron</a> you should do us all a favor and quit</p>— MB Gifford (@SWTBlake) <a href="https://twitter.com/SWTBlake/statuses/494321897513820160">July 30, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I know the reason we lost. I wanted a quick update so I asked Siri on iPhone "what is the score of the Astros game?". It came up with the game and I noticed it was bottom of the ninth with one out, Qualls pitching, and men on first and second base. I then said to Siri "oh God...Qualls is going to blow this one I can feel it". Siri then said she "thought I said I was looking for a listing of funeral homes in the area". Noooo! I left the game up on my iPhone and, as it updated itself, I saw my premonition was coming true. And, that was that. The one time in forever I ask for an Astros score update and this sh_t happens. Geez. Sorry, folks...the park's closed! (in my best John Candy voice)
I didn't see those. I saw his complaints about Appel because Astros County retweeted them. I quit following Smith when he quit covering the Astros and started following Ortiz since he was the replacement. I've now quit following Ortiz for his ridiculousness.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Bo Porter announces Chris Carter as a late lineup scratch due to flu-like symptoms. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Astros?src=hash">#Astros</a></p>— Houston Astros (@astros) <a href="https://twitter.com/astros/statuses/494517181644693504">July 30, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
In sports, I always interpreted that as the player is hungover. If you look at the true incidence of the "flu", there is an exorbitant amount of flu strains in the sports world compared to the general public. Hence, its a hangover.
Kike! He has a pretty swing, love his versatility. really hope he continues to swing it & sticks in the majors
Won 5 of the last 8 against the A's after starting off 0-5 against them for the year. Definitely a step towards respectability!
