I know I'm late. I'm so surprised. It must be so easy to obtain a doctorate in a non-science or non-engineering field. I mean, Shaq is pretty stupid.
It is from an "actual college." Still, he completed most of his coursework online and via video conferencing: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7895681/shaquille-oneal-receives-doctoral-degree-education Perhaps he was one step from being a Phoenix while in Phoenix?
Not surprised at all, his tests were probbaly modified and he cheated his way by sleeping around with the secretarys to earn his degree. Shaq is not even an educated man.
it ain't real.. meaning it was rigged. I seriously doubt Shaq could pass a higher math/science class required for a doctorate. When I say higher.. I'm talking algebra I. either that or online degrees are not worth the paper they aren't printed on.
It is a "doctorate" in HR he got doing some online and some in class. I think that says it all. Human Resources.
I think Internet degrees are commonly misconceived as being terrible. I'm supplementing my campus education with online and they are both around the same difficulty. Of course I wouldn't know about a doctorate.
There's a very big difference between an Ed.D. and a Ph.D. Both are technically doctorates, but Ed.D. takes 3 years to complete, many of which are tailored for working professionals and are meant to credential practitioners to give them an extra boost mid-career. The typical range for a Ph.D. is 5-8 years depending on the field and individual and is oriented toward research and producing professors. The coursework and dissertations are much more rigorous and more difficult to get. But unless you're trying to be a professor, you don't usually need the Ph.D. Not sure what Shaq intends the Ed.D. for, but it's hard to imagine he'd ever need a Ph.D.
Goes to show how important degrees are. I mean, I don't think Shaq would be where he is without doctorate.
He wrote his thesis on the value of humor in leadership, because he says he’s a natural leader who loves to laugh.
