I saw it last night. Pretty entertaining and informative. Interesting that the guys that are wildly successful and not in prison or dead are portrayed in such a relatively positive light.

2 Live Crew didn't do too bad for themselves. There hits get way more sample and play in movies, clubs, etc than anything from NWA.

Saw it last weekend, it was really good, but it could have been better.

It was obvious Dre and Ice Cube had a big say in the movie, because they were portrayed in an extremely positive light. E was made out to look downright pathetic near the end, and Ren and Yella were made to look like completely inconsequential and talentless bums.

But, still a good movie. The actor that played Eazy in particular was great.

I thought the portrayal of Ice Cub was fine but the Dr. Dre character just seemed so fake. Regarding Eazy E, having AIDS could make anyone seem pathetic. I actually wanted to see more about D.O.C. more than anything.

I am biased because I was never a Dre fan
He always seemed he would say/do/be whatever for the money
Just never felt he was authentic
    That said
His character was IMO the most sanitized in the film
I don't know if Suge and Jerry were shown as worse than they were or not . . . I could not get a good bead on that.

Finally saw it last night. Pretty good, but a little disappointed there was no BG Knoccout or Dresta. Also didnt go deep enough into DOC's story imo.

I saw the movie. I liked it. I also acknowledge the sanitizing of Dre and Cube as well. But that doesn't change the fact that it was a good and enjoyable film.

It was long, but it seems like there were enough stories to follow that it could have been even longer.

2 different genres within a genre. I think the NWA guys had a better contract clause so they might actually be getting royalties for current nolstagia samples/usage in tv ads and movies etc. The 2 Live Crew guys, who actually get more play didn't sign a good contract. Their head guy and producer manager, Luke Campbell, gets most of the royalty cuts if not all left over from the label and distributor he signed with back in the late 80s.

Nwa didn't get play on the radio.
They got lots of play from people who listen to their records .

You can't play f the police on the radio.

Plus it's not a dance song.

2 live crew fans are sad they don't have a good story to tell.

And this is internationally. SOC has been number one in the UK/Ireland and Germany for the past two weeks and opened up #1 in Australia this week.

Watched it last night. It was good, but it was obvious they were making sure to shine a brighter light on Cube and Dre. Wish there was more story with Dre though.

    Overall, Liked it a lot.

I liked it. It was good but them getting famous seemed pretty rushed in the movie. The movie just kinda jumped to random scene after random scene but they were each entertaining. There is no way they could have fit everything in though as it was already so long.
