Reg season: minimal injuries to key players - played the fewest number of starting lineups out of any of the playoff teams by far. first round: Jrue Holiday still injured plays here and there and then Tyreke Evans hurt and cant play fully. Not that those two are going to kill the Warriors but a defensive point guard to pressure curry on both ends of the floor and a scoring attacking guard would have may Klay work too on both ends. Maybe Pels win a game or two. Second round: Conley hurt and even though he came back and played admirable he still wasnt 100%. Then Allen with the hamstring injury after he put the clamps on the splash brothers. WCF: Bev is out and DMo is out and who knows what will happen with Howard. Worst part the injury to Howard was friendly fire. Howard may be ok but I am going to say he isn't going to be as healthy as he was in the first two rounds which could be mean all the difference in the world. I say bust out the liquor and help our own cause
Probably Lord Sauron on account that Kerr looks like a goblin and Curry looks like Gollum. In fact one them might being wearing a certain ring. The way Curry just throws it up there arms flailing and nothing but net makes we think it's him.
The Warriors had their share of injuries. Lee was out almost half a season, he averaged almost 20/10 last season. Bogut was out for almost 20 games, was on minute-watching when came back, only averages 20+ minutes. Ezeli had major knee surgery, couldn't play much early in the season, then never got the minute to get back into the shape, he was their first big man off the bench prior to injury. And now Speights is out.
Screw that, we're better than that. It's one thing being a homer and annoying when cheering your team on. But the worst fans are those that wish for players to get hurt. Ballstreams chat was filled with vitriolic Warriors fans cheering on Howard's injury. We can beat them with Curry.
Ezeli isn't a huge contributor to this team this year and he didn't work himself back into the lineup. Lee's injury benefitted the team. Forced Kerr to start Draymond who has been one of the most important players. Speights is day to day and you said it yourself they have a guy in Lee who averaged 20/10 to play in Speights absence. It's not like they are having to look to McAdoo to come in and play for them. Boguts injury they didn't play well during that stretch I think they were like 11-6 but they played a lot of eastern conference teams during that stretch so in some ways that injury came at the best time possible. GS didn't have any major injuries to key players --- the one player that did in Lee led to having a guy who was far more valuable to them defensively to emerge. Boguts injury wasn't too serious and they didn't fare as well without him there Every championship team needs a bit of luck no doubt. But it appears the Warriors are like swimming in a pool of good luck with right now. To their credit they are taking advantage of it.
Of all the silly, whiny, knee jerk threads in the GARM today, this has to be No. 1 in the level of absurdity. You folks DO realize that the last time GS was in the WC Finals was 40 years ago.
Wait... you serious? If all the injuries you've had up to this point (and INCLUDING playoffs) are to a bunch of bench players, then you're historically healthy. Let's compare the Warriors' "injuries" to the Rockets (missing two starters and now possibly Superstar C), Memphis (starting PG and SF were hobbled), Cavs (Allstar PF and PG injured), Thunder (Superstar SF and Allstar PF).
This is relevant how? This isn't about the history of the franchise. It's about the health discrepancy between the Warriors and the other contenders in the league.
