Training Camp and that houston heat will get him in shape. Right now i hope he's just in the playbook and learning the offenses' language. Its june everyone is out of shape except JJ =).

Also the difference between college "in shape" and NFL "in shape" is pretty huge. If the kid is still out of shape during pre-season, then we'll be worried.

This is the NFL equivalent of the Astros getting Daz Cameron at 1.37

Daz only dropped because of contract demands and was committed to Florida St

Weather doesn't get you in shape. I would seriously doubt that he is out of shape because he is studying so much.

hopefully this is only a case of a young guy getting drafted and getting caught in the whirlwind of it all. At least that's what I hope it is. The guy can play but he isn't the type that can coast through it....hopefully he's learning that now.

Randy Gregory and Lael Collins are better examples.

    @SOTTexans biggest surprise/disappointments so far

    — Chris (@ChrisOtto87) June 14, 2015

It is still early but it happens every season: a rookie has high expectations but finds getting acclimated to the NFL to be too much early in the process. Jaelen Strong’s start to his rookie career has been slowed down by trying to get into NFL shape. It is tough to see what he can do on the field and with an early set back on the first day of OTAs, Strong ending up missing all of the practices. Getting Strong ready for training camp is the key and he will have close to a month to get healthy.

Traded away Devier Posey and 3 picks for the pick that we used for Strong, ironic since it looks like he's being treated like Posey.

Remember O'Brien said Strong was going down a road that's not good in HK, guess he's still down that road.

If he turns out to be a bust, it's ok.

We can just trade him for another bust in a couple years.

Discounting the 5th and 7th round picks thrown in, was anybody as high on Posey as people are on Strong? Posey was an almost agreed upon reach in the 3rd ; his stock wasn't high with the suspension and lackluster senior year. Not to mention that Rick traded our 2nd and 7th so that he could get the extra 3rd which ended up being Posey and Brooks.

You can say that Posey didn't get a fair shake, but maybe he didn't earn it. They sure tried to make it work with Keyshawn, why wouldn't they have tried just as hard with Posey?

@taniaganguli: "He needs to practice better," Bill O'Brien says of what Jaelen Strong needs to do to get on the field. That's all he'll give up. #Texans

The Texans just LOVE to throw away 2nd and 3rd round picks. We get such little production out of picks that should yield high production.

We've basically thrown away every pick for a long while. Smith needs to be fired. Ugh, I can't believe that we're still talking about this. :(

It's pretty amazing, isn't it? Is there any front office executive with more job security than Rick Smith? Dude should have been fired YEARS go.

Read somewhere else that we were really trading up for Tyler Lockett but Seahawks moved ahead of us and got Lockett. We settled for Strong.
