It certainly would have, but they wanted to go all in with speed and skill this draft after how pedestrian our offense has been. Football gods just have it out for us it seems.
That's what I'm saying. Obviously, a high ankle sprain takes longer to heal, but for him to walk off the field and then have it wind up being so severe that he misses the year? That's craziness.
He's not missing the season because he simply sprained his ankle. He is missing the season because his sprain was severe enough to require surgery and the recover / rehab process will take the entire season. You can walk off the field on your own for various non-life threatening injuries that still require surgery. This does set our already injured OL back even more though.
This is what I fkn hate about OB. Dude tries to play Bellicheck too much. Tries to undersell everything. The Pats know how to win, Bill. You don't.
Damn..., we should have paid Ben Jones. We have the cap space now but not sure if we did when he signed.

Yeah looking back that was the right move, but if the injury doesn't happen, the Texans would have upgraded the position for less.
This is hindsight at its finest. If Martin had been healthy, we would have upgraded at the position and saved a significant amount of money in the process. Injuries are part of the game.....and for Houston, they always seem to strike our weakest position.
If they signed Ben Jones, they wouldn't have drafted Nick Martin. The injury to Martin easily could have happened to Jones.
If anyone misses Ben Jones......... those are the same ppl that will miss Corey Brewer when he is gone. Useless.
Not comparable at all. Ben Jones was a solid but not good center, Brewer is a worthless waste of a roster spot. It would be awesome if the Texans still had Jones over what they'll have at center this year, but that doesn't mean they made a mistake. Things just didn't work out. Hopefully people won't start calling Nick Martin a "bust" like they did with Clowney simply due to an injury his rookie season.

They don't know if he'll be ready for week one. Duane Brown is not expected to practice next week but contrary to reports is not expected to start the season on PUP. They are hopeful he'll be ready to go.
All the injuries to the offensive line doesn't bode well for RBs and TEs that don't know how to block.
