The burning question at the moment: did anyone salvage the tarps when they imploded Floyd Casey Stadium? ...there might be a need at McLane in the coming years
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Waco letter to the editor says Art Briles did nothing wrong, faults female students for "frolicking at nightclubs." <a href="https://t.co/bdtaxcGsre">https://t.co/bdtaxcGsre</a></p>— Stewart Mandel (@slmandel) <a href="https://twitter.com/slmandel/status/737012562902929408">May 29, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It's either the victims or the Texas staff, Texas fans or texas friendly media. There are people who actually think this is revenge for Briles not taking the Texas job. People who think that this is just about hating on baylor because they're really good to the point that they won't care when Texas hires Birles to be the head coach after Charlie. It's a trip. http://www.baylorfans.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=6
Shame on the Trib for even publishing that letter. I'm sure newspapers around the country get all kinds of disgusting opinions...many of which aren't fit to print. That's one of them.
My best guess is this is a side of Baylor that your friend's daughter never experienced or even was aware of.
"With the hiring, Grobe is expected to place the majority of his emphasis on the defensive side of the ball, aiding current defensive coordinator Phil Bennett. Offensive coordinator Kendal Briles is expected to remain in full control of the offense."
ESPN Article on Jim Grobe Hiring: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/15834890/baylor-bears-hire-jim-grobe-interim-coach Spoiler -Coached at Ohio from 1995 to 2000 and Wake Forest from 2001 to 2013. -77-82 record in 13 seasons with the Demon Deacons and his teams played in five bowl games. I'm still confused as to why more of the coaching staff hasn't been let go since it has already been announced that staff (I believe coaches) had inproperly met with assault victims. Maybe they are waiting for their early June meeting and the full report to come out. It's good to bring in an outside that can help fix the image of the program.
Baylor is trying to keep as much staff continuity to get as many 2016 recruits to enroll as possible. They'll only fire staff when absolutely forced to, but it will happen. I'd be shocked if Kendall is still on the staff at the start of the season.
I'm guessing it's because he was less culpable in the actual incidents and didn't know as much while Briles was fired for cause as he was (presumedly) aware of it all and coordinating it. However, they have not released the full report.
