Rondo/Westbrook would obviously be effective, but for what Rondo will command, the Thunder could spend their money much better elsewhere to get a better fit.
Rondo/Westbrook backcourt can cause some serious damage to opposing teams. I'll give you a hint to one of the teams that will take a big hit going against OKC. Houston.
It wouldn't be nearly as effective as people think. Westbrook already canabalizes Durants opportunities, which is tolerable because you can't just run Durant into the ground, but adding yet another guy who needs to ball is not going to work. The Thunder need a center and they need one badly. A defense big with offensive rebound capabilities, maybe even a post up game would benefit them more than anything.
Why not Westbrook for Rondo with whatever fillers on both sides. Of course a lot depends on Westbrook and Rondo's health but Rondo would set up Durant better than any point guard out there. If you think Durant is a deadly scorer now, I could see him averaging another 5 extra points by just having a pass first point guard on his side. 35 point per game scorer, easily. Not harping on Westbrook but he is more of a first option than a second option, I think. He wants first option touches, anyway.
KD will get zero touches now with Westbrook and Rondo commanding the ball the entire time. I'm not afraid. They'll implode and we'll get KD in 2016.
They should've traded Westbrook for Dwight when he wanted to leave Orlando and kept Harden. Reggie Jackson James Harden Kevin Durant Serge Ibaka Dwight Howard
That would be a complete disaster. Rondo and Westbrook are both great players, but that might be the worst pairing imaginable.
Okc messed up when they never entered the CP3 sweepstakes. Westbrook for cp3 straight up would have got the deal done and maybe you re-sign harden in that scenario.
That would be insane defensively. Offense would be...interesting. But then isn't it always with Westbrook?
And to think they could have had harden and some people still think it was a good trade "at the time"
that would've been a championship team...they made a horrible mistake resigning westbrook over harden
If I had to pick I would prefer westbrook. Harden half the time is pretending to be a pg which is horrible.
