DeVier Posey W <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CV15DKRZ4B8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The anual WTF PICK from the Houston Texans.
Definitely looks the part... decent size at 6'2'', very athletic, top-end speed. I believe Mel mentioned that he only played in 3 games this past season, so he may have flown under the radar. Also, tattoo-gate hurt his stock. I think he'll be a nice surprise next to Andre. SO & JR years at OSU: SO: 60 rec, 828 yds, 8 TD. JR: 53 rec, 848 yds, 7 TD.
I could caerless about the 5 game suspension. Selling OSU membroblia? That's preferable to missing games because of drugs, steroids, or even injury.
Seemed high to me, but he has more upside than any WR on the board at that time. Never been a fan of Sanu.
Also, it should be interesting to see his game with a Quarterback throwing him the ball for the first time in his career.

He gave a great interview on 610 a few minutes after he was drafted. Going to be a very easy guy to root for. Says he sold the memorabilia to raise money to send to his mother who was struggling with her bills and he'd do it over again if he had to. Also said that he's been a Texans fan since inception, citing a logo drawing contest in Sports Illustrated as a kid that got him interested.
great body control. does a good job holding on to the ball while going to the ground. finds the soft spot in the zone well and uses body to provide QB a target. Can go up for the ball and good at slants and curls. I can see his game transfering well to the Texans playbook as a #2 wr. Playing for Ohio St learned to be a good run blocker. Good upside. One of my favorite things about him is he runs north and south after the catch and doesn't go Jacoby and lose 5-10 yards trying to cross people over <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pMoKu6hymWE?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pMoKu6hymWE?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object> <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/W2Ttntqvq54?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/W2Ttntqvq54?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object> <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RN74dmXVwP4?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RN74dmXVwP4?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>
Tried to find a podcast but 1) SR 610s site is God-awful to navigate and 2) it may not even be up yet.
Just because he's a player no one hears about doesn't say anything. Mock draft grades for 3rd rounders and lower are a bunch of crap anyway. By this time teams draft boards have already diverged hugely no one knows what a players true value is to another team. Might as well nab the guy if you really like him. The Texans have 5 picks in the 3rd/4th round anyway. They can afford to overdraft if they feel no other receiver's worth taking. They obviously thought little of Randall by trading back though. So while the pick does conjour up bad memories of Jacoby Jones, I have no problem with the pick in of itself. I just hope he turns out a lot better than JJ. Especially since Andre's years as a top receiver is limited.
He's been working out in FL with Cris Carter, and considers himself a "technician" on the field. I really like this pick. He sounds hungry, wants to be here, and has all the tools to succeed. Posey may very well end up being the gem of this HOU class.
